The plant is now 29cm tall, almost a foot. 'She' has been under 24 hour CFL light for ten days now. Looks healthy.

Hey Gromit,
If he's going to move it outside, why top it?
If he doesn't have any height restrictions, why top it?

+1 that she will need more room, eventually.

more root = more fruit

also, some strains/phenos will auto-flower on ya if they start feeling pot-cramped, as I found out with a few of my c99s and f13s.

Day 43

Still on 24/0, 'Clarice' is now 45cm tall (15cm growth in a week!). Still no sign of gender, but looking very healthy.

Day 50

Growth started to slow, so I repotted Clarice in a 15L pot. Same potting mix as before with added coco coir. No obvious stress after repotting, Clarice is now 55cm tall and very healthy looking. Still no definitive indication of gender.

Maybe time to remove some of the lower vegetation?

Growing 101 - The plant will need approximately 2-4 weeks after you turn the lights to 12/12 to show gender, although I've seen a few turn in about 10 days.
It won't happen while using a 24/0 light cycle, don't know why you keep thinking it will. This is based on your comments about the plant not showing its sex.
From my experience and research, the plant may begin pre-flowering at 16/8, definitely 12/12.

'Clarice' will have to go outside in a couple of weeks as I will be away for a while. Is there any benefit in gradually reducing the light period before putting her outside (to reduce the shock of going to 12/12), or should I just keep her on 24/0? Thanks.

3 weeks out switch to 20/4
2 weeks out switch to 18/6
1 week out switch to 16/8

Then when you transplant and she must go outside she will be ready for 12/12?

Remeber you are learning to grow, not reinventing the wheel. You want to know sex sooner rather than later. If she is not female (determined by seed genetics before she ever sprouted) you're wasting to much time IMHO.

Some people advocate having a dark period of 24 hours between veg and flower to reduce the shock of the light change.
