Weed on wheels (Illustrated)
Re: Weed on wheels
Great stuff, keep it coming. I like the unconventional approach. I took the Dutch Flyer myself only a few days later, and was so less adventurous.

Great report!! Such a cool way to get over to Amsterdam. I can't wait to read more.

Thankyou it's pleasing to see that you are enjoying my trip, it's always a pleasure after, when you get into it, to bring out the photo's and start writing.
.
However the Mrs. and me are off for the weekend for a bit of walking in the countryside, not too far, a piece of the north surrey downs called the hogs back. We have some cobwebs we need blowing away
. So next week.

What a long strange trip it is.

Re: Weed on wheels (Illustrated)
Well folks, heres a bit more, I enjoy sharing these memories, but I have to say I’m struggling a bit as I had a wonderfully boring time by and large. Wonderful because I was rolling around Holland again nicely toasted and the weather was brilliant, but I didn’t actually do much else. OK I’ll meander on, my pictures are my notes.
The weather looked set to be good this trip and not wanting to waste it I didn’t hang around long after breakfast but got the bike out of the lockup and went for an explore round the local neighbourhood, where I bumped into this lovely chap, what a pleasure.

Biking around in the immediate neighbourhood around my hotel which was in the Amstel area was nice and easy with the wide streets and bike paths so after a morning vape or two I checked out the locale.

Came upon a very nice park which I remember at the time felt like the perfect garden and place to be feeling so mellow.

I happened on a fleet of “living willow” boats;

And the Willows from which they were harvested.

And a lovely area of children’s vegetable gardens all within what is when I looked on the map, a fairly compact city park.
I've had a look on the map and it was Frankendael Park https://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=52.349674 ... 986,-0.001

Later in the day I took my bike back to the hotel and as I’d bought myself a chipcard and put a few euros on it I thought I’d have a bit of a mooch round on the public transport. Came up to town for the afternoon and stopped off at 420 for a bit of mediocre nevilles I’m sad to say. I detect a bit of war weariness in the popular shops these days, so I was particularly careful not to ask them about or even mention the “W” word.
I dropped by Voyagers again at some point and bought a nice G of Sour Power and I did enjoy that very much indeed as I had, for reasons of mobility on my bike, been exclusively on the sativas. Anyway it gave me the munchies so steak chips and beans, a bit of a stroll round town,

and Metro to Amstel and back to my hotel for a nice early night.
I love the Amsterdam Metro, they don’t plaster every flat surface with adverts. They do Art.

I shall resume again later for some more COOT's Travel Tales, but at the moment we're off up the road to the Notting Hill Carnival. Might score a bit of the old skool Ja.

Great way to see Amsterdam/Netherlans or any other part of Europe. I envy you but the wheels are already spinning (figuratively) as to how to do a bike tour. Lovely weather you had and thanks for sharing the pics!

Re: Weed on wheels (Illustrated)
Just remembered that on my way back to my hotel I called into the Nes after V’s for a quiet beer and a catch up with the forum and was pleasantly surprised when Balou came over and said Hi, nice to meet you mate.
Bright and early(ish) start next day which must have been Thursday and my last day in Amsterdam. First thing I went up to town to the Waterlooplein market to see if I could get a carrier for the front of my bike, I needed to shift some of the weight out of my over full panniers for the return trip so I got a second hand rack for E10 and while the man on the stall was fixing that and a putting on a new bell, I walked up to voyagers for a nose to see whos about
. I think I saw and spoke to Matty 223, hello mate, and as I was leaving I ran into Treetop, good to see you again old chop.

State of the art stuff.

Anyway I didn’t hang around as it was a beautiful day but went round to Dutch Flowers for a gram of Lemon Haze which was excellent; and with some of that in my vape I set off for a days bike ride, south out of the city along the Amstel. As I’ve said somewhat incoherently earlier, it was a pleasure to join the Amsterdammers at their leisure.

I’d taken my usual stop off at Albert Heijn so a shady tree made a nice place to share my lunch with Mr Rembrant and a hells angel
(of the fietspads).

Nice coffee and soup

Well I think I got back fairly late afternoon and must admit that having toked a bit of Sour Power I needed a nice siesta in my air conditioned room so I reckon I had a couple of hours shuteye, ate in the hotel restaurant and Metro’d up to town about 9pm. I was headed for Paradox to do a bit of vaping, but when I did find it, it was closed. So I mooched a bit and came upon Black Star and as I’d never been there I thought I’d check it out and I’m glad I did a totaly nice place, bit old skool rasta vibe, very chill. I bought myself a gram of Amnesia here, and it was one of the 2 best tokes of my trip, smooth and crystal clear high and I had a nice chat to the guy in there about my Wispr vape, as I do in a lot of places as it’s still something of a novelty.
This is a metro station entrance. Brilliant aren’t they ?

My hope was to get up to Voyagers to see Luvtic again and meet USBL as I was off home next day and I just about managed it before Voyagers closed for the night, how time slips away from me in Amsterdam. However I did get to say hello to everyone, but as I had to take the late night metro back to Amstel and I ain’t so quick on my feet any more I graciously (I hope), declined Bongs generous offer to get SPOONED. However something tells me that I will be back in November and I wont be saying niet if the offer comes my way again.
Nice to see you also Tuttie and Ohm.

Oh well it was just a quick trip and all good things come to an end and so the next morning saw me and the bike on the train down to the Hague and out to Sheveningen so I could pay a visit to Blue and White for a nice 5 for 35 deal on their Power Plant and then a nice hour and a half ride down to the Hook for a 1400 departure on the ferry.

Bye bye Pepperland, until the next time.

Bye bye people on the beach, until the next time.
