Nice little report, just wondering if you took bud on the journey out to toke on the ferry? Prob a stupid question but it will help with my planning. Also what sort of cost for walk on with a bike or can you link me to the booking site? And (yawn) is there secure storage for bikes onboard?

Thanks in advance. :D

Thanks.
yes, just took a little bit of puff for the ferry and for the road to buzz up to Scheveningen where the CS's open at 10. no problems, going out. But you can get the same eye from the customs coming back as you do at some airports, and maybe they're wondering if you've topped up the tyres with herbs, I dont know but I've never had a spin :D.

I get the Dutch Flyer deal which is from any Anglia rail station, probably is peterborough closest for you, to Any Dutch Station which is £90 return for the basic fare. You can travel to and leave from any station you want within the days of travel. I think it's about a tenner to take the bike on the ferry and theres good storage so you're bikes safe and secure. You have to buy a seperate ticket in Holland if you want to take your bike on their trains though. Going outward overnight is good, because you're out on Dutch soil by 8am so you get a good nights sleep on the ferry and the days ahead of you, and it's a cheap hotel when you think about it, £30 single cabin (en suite :D ) £45 double.

Hope you do it you'll love it.

What a long strange trip it is.
