Go on a canal boat - I find it a great way to chill after a few spliffs.

Canal Bus is a hop on, hop off service which means you buy a 1 or 2 day ticket and then get on and off as you please at various stops all over the centre of the city.

A visit to Albert Cuyp market in De Pijp is worth an afternoon. Just south of the Heineken Experience and reached via 16 or 24 tram from Central Station.

Vondelpark is lovely to chill on a gorgeous sunny day. Not so nice in the rain but still worth a visit.

Eat calorie laden pancakes at the Pancake Bakery!!! Whilst in that part of town (Prinsengracht) the Jordaan is worth a stroll through. Some of the side streets have quaint shops and restaurants.

Those are my favourite things - others may feel entirely differently!!

I try to have a hotel near Vondelpark and after breakfast, I take slices of bread and I go to the park to feed ducks..

Amsterdam is a city full of art, architecture, museums, parks, zoos. Get a guide book or map grab a museum pass and go for a walk, the light posts are a sculpture in there own right, Hugo Crop(sp) has hundreds of sculptures decorating the many bridges. Smoke one early and explore till 5pm and then slow down to a crawl

 In the summer it's best to get high and do whatever outdoor activity might suit ya... picnic in the park, cycle around, rent a scooter, take the train out to the beach, go swimming, meet cool people, watch the world go by, go shopping, walk around until your feet feel like you were a runaway slave, find somebody with a boat and cruise around... be aware of the boundless possibilities.

The random street art fascinates me.

Some really awesome stuff randomly dotted about in sometimes the most surreal places

Interesting first post, considering you joined about 2 years ago!

Looks good though, added it to my to-do list for my trip in two weeks, thanks for the tip.
