I'm designing a bubbler!

hey ACD'ers!

While looking around for a mid-to-high end bubbler in Europe, I was recommended to a glass blower in Germany called Steak Glassworks. His prices are reasonable, and for the opportunity to design my own glass from scratch, I couldn't resist!

Here was my first design:

Image

It will be used with a Herborizer 18.8 XL first off. In the future, I'd like to use it with a log vape, and maybe also a Cloud (unless its too top heavy, not sure)

Intentions of my design -
> Relatively small, bottom-heavy, stable. Simple design, relatively low-cost
> Moderate amount of diffusion to preserve flavor, simple perc system
> Diffusion holes are low in the chamber to allow low water levels
> Integrated 18.8 downstem, with showerhead joined to base for added durability and ease of cleaning
> Removable 18.8 GONG mouthpiece - can be rotated 180 degrees for 2 different vaporizing positions (eg. sitting and standing) - Gives option to use hose adapter - Separates the most fragile piece from the main chamber

Steak is going to check if its possible to join the showerhead to the base, but apart from that, he says the design is totally do-able. He also has other options for the diffusion, so the showerhead might be changed to something else. The removable mouthpiece would be by a keck clip while in use.

So now I've made a digital version of the design to work out the dimensions etc -

Some options for future mouthpieces -

Color decisions will be made after the physical design is locked down.

So thats where the project is at.. thought some of you would like to see it. I'd also like to ask for opinions, suggestions etc, I value your opinions, glassheads!

Really cool design, one suggestion though... allow the downstem to detach from the base for easier cleaning. Other than that cracking bubbler

Hi Bleak, looks good, with a lot of similarities to the Herborizer bubbler design. If you can reduce costs by getting more than one produced I might be interested in one too.

Why's the mouthpiece look like a dick? Is that make it better?

ummm, yeah ok

I'm very tempted to make some jokes about Rorschach/ink blot tests, but nah... I don't think you'll understand me anyway.

Just to clear up any more 'looks like a dick' confusion, here is a picture of how Steak's bubbler mouthpieces look. If anyone still thinks this looks like a dick, I give up :?: :?: :?:

I don't think getting 2 will make any difference to the price, since each is made by hand. However, theres nothing stopping you asking Steak to build you the same bubbler, in your own colors! My design is based off other bubblers anyway, so I wouldn't mind at all.

Maybe he could give you a break on just creating a second "main body", no additional gong or stem. I chill my little bubbler in the fridge before using, and I wish that I had a second body so that I'd "always have a cold one waiting for me in the fridge"- one's chillin' while the other's in use.

enjoy

Hey Bleak, did you decide to get one of these in the end? I've got a Herbie XL Sphere so probably won't get a bespoke one myself but interested to see your finished product.

Great design! When do we see her in action?
