Isolator questions

I sampled a few isolator smokes the last time that I was in Amsterdam, and I started to wonder about them.
Some looked like blond crumbly hash while others looked like black gummy hash and others looked like pollen dust and another looked like tiny granules.
The bud tenders were not very informative and their explanations were often conflicting.
A few questions:
what is isolator, and are there varieties like indica or sativa with differing effects?
And can anyone recommend a good sativa type trippy isolator as opposed to a body high indica type effect?
Thanks for any advice.

Isolator is hash made using Isoproyl Alcohol. It is a very simple process. The different types stem from which wash it was taken from. There tend to be several washes and the more you wash the more oily and liquid the results.
Of course what was used to make the iso determines what kind of effect ie stoned/high.
Hope that is helpful.

Basically Isolater hash is made by throwing all your trim, buds whatever your using into iced water , with ice inside a product called BubbleBags or a Bubblenow machine or the other brand name resin separating tool .
Slowly agitate, its the different microns (sizes of mesh) that provide you with different grades of resin the holy grail being full melt

In Canada, hash extracted with ice water and bubble bags is called bubble hash.

Coffeeshops use isolator and ice-o-lator interchangeably. When I first saw an isolator on a menu I assumed it was made with isopropyl alchohol too, but it's actually ice hash or bubble hash as it's called in the states.

I've met Treetop a couple of times and he is defo not retarded. In fact, he's quite the nice chap. Cheers Treetop...
Your comment on the other hand... just saying.

ing
Name calling is for children, be an adult.
ISO, otherwise known as QWISO (Quick Wash Isopropyl) ...... Isopropyl or my fav Neutral Grain Spirits 96%+ (when done washing, have a cocktail, YUMMY)
Ice, otherwise known as Ice-o-lator, otherwise known as Water Works, etc... Cold Water Extraction
So, let there be no more confusion FFS...
Happy trails...

Hey Surfer Joe,
First off, it's called Ice-O-Lator, or Ice, but not Isolator or ISO. Some more than others are easily confused. Two very different processes with different outcomes.
Ice is cold water/ice extracted trichomes. Iso is Isopropyl Alcohol extracted trichomes. They look different, they smell different, they taste different, but they will both get you fucked up.
Second, yes there are different varieties of Indica and Sativa but you are most likely to find more of the former mainly because the turn around time is nearly half. One could also argue that most prefer to be stoned rather than high. A couple of other possibilities maybe, dunno...
Absolutely the effects are different, the same as smoking bud but without the plant material and some/most of the flavor. The high/stone remains the same either way, just more intense because of the purity.
Lastly, as for a recommendation, that's a tough call because many places have nice gear.
If you have the time, go rogue and venture out on your own.
Enjoy the Ice...
Happy trails...

Rusland has a cheap NL Ice on their menu , billed as Ice-o-lator , when I had it , it was def a isopropyl extraction
I personally think it's always a case of , "how much do you trust the source"
I should make it very clear that i've yet to meet a real life bubblebag so have no personal knowledge of how they work .
Also , having been educated enough on my trips by much more experianced ACDers

tbh unless you have a very good know how , CS stuff is really not worth it , all the best extraction's of any kind i've tried were NOT available in shops more's the pity

, although thinking of 2 ACD version's ( 1 trip I had them both together

fuck me

), i'd be fairly worried about the price certain shops would put on them should they ever get them , thankfully this will never happen

Agree with that. The terms do tend to get interchanged. Leads to people getting confused as evidenced by this thread.
Always found CS ice and iso hash to be too expensive. Especially when it is a relatively simple and cheap process to make from discarded plant material and items commonly found in any household kitchen.

Isolator , isolater , Iceolater , bubble etc all the same thing and definately not made with isopropanol otherwise known as QWISO which is not sold in coffeeshops unless they're trying to pass it off as BHO

That doesn't seem very appealing to me. I had my fill of smoking seeds and stems back in the 60s.
BTW, what's a full melt?

Thanks, uncle Ron.
I must admit that I've never been very interested in hashes because I don't feel like I get the sort of beautiful high that I get from pot.
I didn't feel a lot of difference between the isolator/ice-o-lator samples that I tried and the regular hashes, and they were all more expensive.
I tried them just to see if they were something really special- sort of a high between good pot and lsd maybe- but they weren't even as nice as the pot I smoked.
I'm sad that they took the magic mushrooms off sale because that was something I really liked.
