I'll be honest, everything I've had at Voyagers has met that description in terms of weed. Grey area, too. Of course, if you're willing to go a little off the main map, the Hindu Kush at Club Media is far and away the best weed I've ever had. And it was CHEAP compared to the stuff you fing closer to the center. Really though, as long as you stay away from the blatant tourist traps, I've found it's hard to go wrong.
For hash, I've found it to be a bit hit-or-miss. That is to say that even when you miss, it's still pretty good. But when you hit...well then, it's another world! Best I've had came from Katsu,, again a bit off the beaten path; their jelly hash just about melted my face. I also really enjoyed the Brown Sugar at Kadinsky, although the vibe has taken a bit of a nose-dive of late (well, as recently as 16 months ago). All of the Riffman hash I've had at Tweede Kamer/Dampkring (although I hear they've separated, so I'm not sure which got the Riffman in the divorce settlement) has always been top notch. Finally, the hash at Bluebird is supposed to be superb, although for some reason I've always managed to be too stoned in there to remember to try the hash (really weird, I know...just can't explain it).
Have a blast!!

No man, the pleasure is all mine. Any time I get to recount my experiences in the 'Dam, I'm all good. Which reminds me- if you're into hash for the flavor/aroma as much as the effect, then I've gotta say that the Golden Soles at Grey Area was the best I had during my last trip (Aprill 2011). They seem to have it on the menu frequently, so if you're in the area and they have some...who gets hurt??
