Music in Coffeeshops

Post by Larikin »

Hi guys, long time browser, first time poster! I've had a search around but can't find much info on the music played in coffeeshops.

I love listening to good music whilst smoking - particularly ambient, house and other electronic music you can zone out and get lost in with a good joint. Anybody got any recommendations for any coffeeshops or bars that play this kind of stuff?

Any recommendations for any coffeeshop you enjoy the music of is cool, regardless of genre - all opinions much appreciated! It'll be my 3rd trip to Amsterdam this year, and I can't wait!

Thanks guys

BABA got some sweet house and trance playing all the time. Always the newest tracks. However, their weed is too expensive.

There are a few threads about music in coffeeshops as well as in the reviews. When you use the blue "search" link put a + in front of each word your searching for. You can start with this one https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... =3&t=20345

Thanks Balou, I've managed to work myself backwards through many threads thanks to your linking!
Obviously it depends on the budtender working but it seems like good spots for music are: Rockerij, Siberie, Hill St. Blues, Coffeeshop 36 and that Baba and Hunters can play some livelier techno and trance

The reason I made this thread is because music really makes or breaks the mood of some coffeeshops for me. I've heard some awful music in some of the places I visited last year (why stoners would want to listen to badly recorded live pop concerts I'll never know)! You'd think budtenders would all play good tunes.

Please keep the suggestions coming, regardless of genre!

I keep on about this, but the best music I've found is in Siberie. Really unknown stuff and it's decent! Prix d'ami has some heavy beats if you're into that kind of stuff.
