Buying from a coffeeshop (travelling with kids)
Buying from a coffeeshop (travelling with kids)
Guys, here's my position - hope someone can help.
I'll be travelling through Dam over Xmas with my 5yo daughter, and for the first time my wife won't be with us. I still want to pick up some hash though. Normally I'd just stop by Tweede Kamer, but I don't want to leave her outside the shop window. She's a smart cookie, and will wonder what's going on. Wife wouldn't be happy if she found out.
I'm thinking I could find a normal cafe & sit outside (in Dec??? brrrr), which is next door to a coffee-shop. Then while she's busy drinking a hot chocolate, I pop in & make a quick buy. But I'd need to keep her in my sight from inside the shop. I've looked at a few reviews, would Rick's Cafe be good for this?
thks
Max
ps - if anyone is unhappy with this post: I won't be smoking in front of my daughter, or while I'm in charge of her. This buy is for later in the trip. I don't want to hang out around coffee-shops with her, just a quick stop and then off.

So to recap... You're going to leave your 5 year old daughter unattended at an Amsterdam cafe?

Just ask someone who is on their way in to pick you up a bag. Tell them it's because you don't want to leave your daughter alone outside. Throw them a couple dollar tip.
Poof. Done.

here is what you do, find someone, who will be in Amsterdam at the same time as you are, or ask Gapie, forum member who lives in Amsterdam

leaving your daughter while you get some smoke has got to be a NO!! friend of a friend took his son out there (8 years old) he took him round RLD.. i wouldnt take a kid to amsterdam, But im sure theres a place (adventure playground fopr kids) near zeeburg where you could leave her for a few hours to play. no adults were allowed to go in and they looked after the kids.. Ok i wasnt doing anything dodgy i was trying to find a place that had a bouncy castle which i could go on whilst smashed off my face.

Hey man im not going to judge you or insult you but your 110 % best option is to message gapie on here. Problem solved, this is a trustworthy gentleman who will gladly get you what you want from where you want, and if you would like them, get his opinions and suggestions.
Also a little known fact, in ancient times Amsterdam was actually known as Stansterdam because of Gapies worldwide Mary Wanna influence.

I've seen dozens of local school aged kids in the RLD walking through to get somewhere else, The locals don't have the same hang-ups as we do.
Someone from ACD always seems to be in Amsterdam at any given moment, I agree with letting one of them score for you.

Nice one Matty, and the rest as well.
I also recommend Gapie, just give him a heads up. Treat him proper...
I think the collective just saved a father from being nominated for...
...Worst Father of the Year
...Darwin Award
...A severe beat-down, followed by loss of custody, and another beat-down just to add insult to injury. Just saying...
Happy trails...

Aye...if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.Uncle Ron wrote:...and another beat-down just to add insult to injury.

I would go with Gapie or if pushed yoyo, there is a little play area outside you can see from the shop. But please don't leave your kid.
