First Trip to Amsterdam Sep 13-18, Traveling Solo

* Note - Basically duplicate of my introduction post. I saw Travel Plans after I posted it and realized it probably fit in here better. Sorry - noob.

I will be heading to Amsterdam Sep 13-18 on a solo trip. I was worried about this new legislation threatening to ban tourists from Coffee Shops, and even if it doesn't go through or get enforced, it seemed like a damn good excuse to make the trip.

I'll be staying in a private apartment near Nieuwmarkt for the first 3 nights, then on a Houseboat near Waterlooplein for the last 2 nights. Really excited about both locations.

I'd be happy to hear advice for my first trip, must do activities or attractions, tips for traveling solo, don't miss Coffee Shops in my areas, etc. I'd also be happy to hear from anyone who's going to be there at the same time. Maybe we could connect in one of the shops.

I'd also love some advise on don't miss strains to try. I usually just get dirt weed at home and smoke it (or vape) before bed because I tend to get terrible munchies and then fall asleep. I'm looking forward to trying Sativa because it is reputed to keep you up and energetic. I was also thinking about trying some hash and/or spacecakes since I've never had either one. Any good advice for a lightweight like me? Am I right in aiming for a Sativa?

Thanks in advance for any responses. I'm SO excited about this trip. I just can't wait to get baked and relax along those beautiful canals.

Oh, one more thing I'm not sure about. I see some of the Coffee Shops have sidewalk seating. Can you sit outside and smoke, or do you have to be inside? I really like the idea of smoking outside. :D

Velcome, and enjoy popping your Amster-cherry.

Coffeeshops have outside seating so you can enjoy the view and a smoke. You should roll your joint inside, then have a seat outside to burn. Try and be discreet around passing elderly and kids.

Try and make it down to de Pijp to visit the Albert Cuypmarkt and some coffeeshops down that way. Club Media, de Graal, Katsu, to name a few.

Do visit 't Nes Cafe near Dam Square, the best smoker-friendly bar in town. Introduce yourself to Dave, mention you've joined ACD, and have a good time. Around Dam Square, visit Utopia. Mention you're on ACD and receive a gratis hot beverage.

Good plan with the sativas. Try some indicas in the evening.

Attend or post a TnT and meet some smokers, namely our man Gapie.

Feed the grachtenfowl from your huisboat.

I'm done now. Enjoy.

Yes, you can smoke outside the coffeeshops, on a sunny day it´s really nice. Don´t use bongs or other "exotic" stuff outside, just plain joints.

You should try the cakes on 3rd or later days, not on the first days so you have at least some tolerance. Buy a cake, eat one half and then go enjoy the tourist attractions or shopping for a couple of hours. Later you can eat the second half if you want more :D

The canal rides are nice when you are a little high. The Heineken brewery tour was interesting (if you like beer), but I wouldn´t go there high.

Thank you all for the info! Really nice people on this board. I'm definitely interested in a talk and toke. Would love to make some new friends while I'm there.

Okay, I'm thinking either the 13th or 14th at Green Place at Grey Area. Any input?

likely to have more success with a TnT at Green Place, since GA is very small. but sometimes you will get lucky and find it empty... such is usually not the case tho.

I'm around there over those dates as well, think cantona7 is aiming for bday T&T/crawl on the 13th: https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 7&start=30

GP easier than GA for T&T unless it's empty, which doesn't happen often

Okay, cool. I'll just jump onto that one then. Don't want to step on his birthday plans!
