Im going back :D
Well after worrying i wouldnt be able to afford 1 trip, ive managed to afford 2!
mainly because i got a return on the bus with megabus for £2.50! and i will be camping (dont worry got all the proper gear). so accomodation and travel for 6 days have cost me around £20 now for the spending money
.
Oh yeah im in town 28 oct - 3 nov gunna get cooooold haha.

I know when i saw tickets at that price i would sleep on the streets (if it werent illegal).!
Re: Im going back :D
Do you happen to know if the Megabus goes via the Tunnel or the ferry? With no rest stops on the continent, I'd have thought it would have to be the latter. I've barely recovered from my last coach trip and vowed it would be the Dutch Flyer next time, but it's already fully booked on the date I want, so I'll have to bite the bullet.

I don't know what this megabus is but if its eurolines then sometimes they use the ferry, sometimes the train. You can find out on the website I think. I cant comment on the train side of things but if you get a ferry I'd strongly advise not trying to take anything over the border. Not that you said you were going to but just in case! I learnt the hard way.
Are you camping at zeeburg? Stayed there before and I would recommend it. Chilled out staff and a cool atmosphere. Ive heard the opposite about vilengbos!

I've used Eurolines more times than I care to remember, from A'dam and Antwerp. The Tunnel is hell, apart from which everything gets X-rayed; once we were patted down as well. With the ferry, you get off and go through French and British checks, sometimes with your luggage. But I've never heard of anyone being caught there; the only time I've seen dogs was on the British side of the ferry going over, which did seem rather pointless.

Re: Im going back :D
Ah well maybe I was unlucky then, although a lady I spoke to said there's been dogs all of her 12? journeys. We had dogs at both side's on the way back. I had a couple of grams of habibi conveniently forgotten in the change pocket of some jeans. The French customs found it but nothing really happened other than being told I'd go to jail next time. Even so it wasn't a pleasant experience and I wouldn't want to do it again. I hope they didn't mark it on any kind of international record, they did take my passport away briefly. A few other people on the coach were caught as well. 2 were strip searchedouirdeaux wrote:I've used Eurolines more times than I care to remember, from A'dam and Antwerp. The main weapon HM Customs use is profiling. If you are relatively young and on a cheap coach trip then you are fair game for a search. Similarly, cheapo easyJet flights will attract attention as will direct ferries to the 'Dam. Use a bit of imagination and take a different view of travel to the 'Dam.
Perhaps a cheap flight to Cologne and a very reasonable train into Centraal gives you a different entry and exit point. Do the research and think out of the box (hate that saying) but it will work.

Re: Im going back :D
I wouldnt ever try to bring any back anyway guys, now if i could smuggle a coffeeshops atmosphere i would try haha. And at the end of the day im young and have travelled the gruelling long distance coaches before (luckily im a mega heavy sleeper with the help of some potent indica).
Another trip wasnt possible at hotel/flying costs and i just had a week of luxury in dam im ready to slum it this time.
And im staying at camping zeeburg which in my opinion is the number 1 accomodation in dam, after the hustle and bustle of the city nothing beats looking out over the lake at the car lights silently crossing the bridge in the distance with that well deserved bowl loaded with a heavy indica in one hand and a peach looza in the other.
