Seth Meyer's on living in the Dam

Post by myoung321 »

Hope this isn't a repost..

Where I Go: Seth Meyers

When he can break away from the Weekend Update desk, the Saturday Night Live funnyman heads to his once-home city of Amsterdam for cold Heineken and coin-operated food. (And improving U.S.-Dutchie relations, naturally.) His favorites in the Netherlands’ capital city.

To get away from it all, I go . . . Back to Amsterdam, my home in 1997–98.

My favorite way to travel there is .
. . By airplane. Ideally on KLM, because of all the airlines, they have the nicest color palette.

My favorite place to stay is . .
. I used to deadbeat it on friends’ couches, but now they all have “kids.” There’s a great selection of hotels. My favorites are the Dylan and the College Hotel, which is staffed by college students studying hotels. So that’s a really good name for it.

My ideal travel companions are
.
. . Amsterdam changes as a city depending on whom you’re with. With my girlfriend, it’s romantic. With my parents, it’s historic. And with my friends, it’s a great place to set back U.S.-Dutch relations 100 years.

When I’m in the mood for room service, my favorite order is .
. . I wouldn’t go to Holland for the room-service options. Find a nice café, for God’s sake.

My favorite local spot to indulge in a Dutch meal is . . . There’s a coin-operated fast-food joint called FEBO. It’s the late-night food that you always regret the next morning. I never miss it.

That was a fun little read, thanks for posting.

Chuckled a couple times...too bad he wouldn't mention the copious amounts of herb he may or may not indulge in
