Trip in 3 days and friend pulled out :(

Hey all my next trip to Amsterdam is this tuesday coming (25th) it was just mr and one friend going but he's text me to tell me his aunt died and he doesn't think he'll be coming now So should I just not go and lose the flight money etc.. or should I just go solo, I'm 20 years old btw if you's think that makes any difference to my choice

Sorry to hear about your friend but, provided he doesn't need you with him at home, you should definitely still go. I went over once on my own for 5 days and loved it! Was great being able to set my own agenda and I found plenty of people to speak to when I felt the need. Don't think age has much to do with it, more about you as a person. If you've never done anything like this before then give it a go - you only live once after all!

And there is also the chance of meeting like-minded people. Also I gotta say the younger I was, the more fun Amsterdam seemed to be... but partly thats due to stricter laws and economic landslides.

Thanks for the replies everybody...I was about 70/30 towards going anyway but you's have lretty much made up my mind for me, I'm actually kinda thinking I might even have a better time by myself lol! Only snag was it was costing me double what I expected for the hotel (have a twin room booked with voyagers ) so I'll have to just take that hit still got plenty of spending money so..fuck it. Still hoping he might change his mind but not holding my breath...so I guess I'll see you's in 3 days

P.S I'll most likely be trying to make a few T&T's while there especially if I'm flying solo

Voyagers, from what I can tell might be fairly easy about you switching to a Single room. Might be an idea.

Get in there young 'un and fly solo!
Solo is my favourite choice and is for many other forum members too.
You can do what you want and when you want plus there's loads of others doing the same who are happy to pal up and network info on what's happening in town.
Go for it and tell us how you got on
Don't make me travel to Scotland to frog march you to the airport
