Medias menu today ....but what it doesn't show is the 3.50 hash joint ...a definite good one ...
The babe working there suggested the Ketama , and who am I to argue
name this coffeeshop ...we were in that exact position one day and every seat was full and every hand had
a joint ...awesome ...it had started raining hard 10 -15 minutes before ...good old Amsterdam rain ,a boon to business
and a museum shot from the Tropen .

Hey Epsilon - is that the cat that has two different eye colors?
Your trip sounded fun. Thanks for the report.
I went to den haag in 1990 for a science fiction convention with my Sci-Fi geek husband while on our honeymoon in Amsterdam (I admit, I enjoyed it, I love sci- fi also).

We didn't see any coffee shops while there....

Hill Street it is ...The Webshots picture site seems glitchy today ...Tutti I got one of the Uke City cards at Hill St.
awesome. The blues on a Uke , and all those tunings ...Like it ...
Weed since we've been back in Amsterdam ...Master Kush -Basjoe ...13 or something ...not even close to the Green
Place version of some years ago ...which went for 35 for a 5 Gram deal ... Dr. Grinspoon Barneys ...eek ...when the expert showed me the bag I thought she's bought shake or something ,they should be ashamed ...G13 Haze - New Times ...good stuff. Yesterdays best smoke ...Diesel -Hill St. distinct taste ...great buzz ...Super Silver Haze ...Stix -was worthy ...
Stix a late night stock up shop we can pass on our way to the Apt. I had considered stayin up to watch the Mountaineers/Texas game-kickoff 1 AM AMS time-but last nights Stix goodies didn't allow that to happen ...
Pre-rolled Hash Joint -best in town (so far) Club Media , other worthies - New Times , Hill St. ,Bagheera ,de Graal,Stix ...
I must admit to nipping over to Bagheera ,during our scrabble game ,James would not be happy with the current BJ HJ ...
anyway... just sayin... Moutaineers 48 -Texas 45...
Its Sunny , Sunday , and we're in Amsterdam ...Have a great day everyone...

Webshots is only linking these little ones ...so you gotta go here to see the real pix .
http://travel.webshots.com/album/583437 ... u?start=60
oops links to page six ...must have something to do with being in Amsterdam ...
the kitty with two different eyes Deb ...but she's shy sometimes .
The expert picked Super Silver Haze from Hill St. as todays best weed ... New Times G13 Haze won yesterday -again .
but we didn't get that way today so it didn't get to shoot for the trifecta ...the ATMs were down this morning so we followed a trail leading from just across the Carre to NieuweMarket ...looking for an ATM that worked ...along the way we flashed our museum cards and had a look at Vince at the hermitage ...well it you like Vince ,he's there now ...anyway we needed cash to charge our ovchipcards so we could ride again ...but the machine at WaterlooPlein was under repair ...Monday in Amsterdam ...anyway things got sorted at NieuweMarket ...then we followed pink Andy Warhol signs to the Nieuwe Kerk , flashed our museum cards again and saw a bewildering pink last supper painting ...walked back to the kitty and never used our now charged up ovchipcards ....

You know you're in Amsterdam when ....
Newest Utopia Menu ,we visited ths one for the first time this week
Took a road trip to Zandvoort yesterday ...above ,a shot within CS La Paz...got a nice Bubble Cheese
there ...whilst waiting on de Vrouw to finish her horse ride on the beach and thru the dunes ...you can take the
girl outa the country , but you can't take the country outa the girl ...and I don't mean music...We were lucky I suppose
to get a very nice Oktober day yesterday ...
FYI- Speaking of Paarden - The Hollandsche Manege (Vondelstraat) is off the hidden free gems list ...they now want 6 Euros to get in .Too bad ,the little balcony cafe overlooking the rink was a nice little spot ...
Coffeeshop Happy People has the dapperstraat market area to itself ...but a nice new menu ...A visit there is
a part of our trip every year ...that the Tropen Museum , the brewery Molen , Oosterpark , make for a nice afternoon.

I think it would be fun to be in Amsterdam at Halloween , if it wasn't 42 or 9 or whatever , with a 30 mile an hour
wind blowing a driving rain ...well when it gets that way , there's always Katzu ...Lets zip over to the Albert Cuyp
de Vrouw says , then it hit . Lucky for us there was a table at Katzu, and some hot tea some Master Kush,a Sudoku, and a damn fine hash Joint ... anyway ...the kitty and I are watching Stanford - Notre dame ...and hoping for some better weather
tomorrow ... I'd fancy sitting out at Hill St. for the Sunday Market
Last Sunday at the Tropen ...How many Mata Haris can you spot ?
It was nice to meet all the forum people at Nes last night , maybe we'll find ourselves heading in the same direction one day

Rainbows End ... Been a great month in Holland ...tomorrow, pack , begin the ugly business of getting home ...
todays wather intermittent rain , breezy ... wet , cold ...
Would've been a good night for a Nes Meetup ...the place was quiet
tried out the house scrabble set at the ringside pool table spot ...that quiet it was ...CS stops today - Hill St at the market
the expert really likes the Silver Haze there ...Basjoe - it started pouring on the way home ...New Times, meetup spopt after she goes to mass at the Krigt ...then on to Nes -this guy jumped out of a rocket or something -the crew was into that event ...de vrouw was distracted enough for me to invent a new 7 letter word ...but she still won ...and the ever reliable Stix on the way up the holler for the Hash Joint I'm smoking like now .
That MG shot was hue shifted a bit , giving it that trippy thing ...
The Holwerd - Ameland Ferry outside and in ...well before it filled up ...which it didn't this time of year
Tropen Museum shot

Back home to this ... Was great to spend four weeks in the Netherlands ...(ahh retirement) ,to meet those of you we did , and see again those of you we did ... Our own Cup winner this year was the Super Silver Haze from Hill St. We're not strain geeks ,and we did visit Voyagers , and Utopia , which seem the current hot shops in this forum ...Nel at Utopia had no problem letting us sample much of the menu in Half gram bits .. a policy we approve of ,and that brought us back a few times But we stand by our choice . Best Hash joint - Cremers in den Haag ...other worthies since I posted earlier -Katsu ,Baghjeera , Greenhouse (though its pretty pricey at 5 E up from 3.60 last year).
The Kitty lives between Utrechtesstraat and The Amstel .. Since we were last there , they did a nice job giving the Big U
a facelift , and the 4 trams are running again . It's beehive straat ...Too bad its a pretty dead area for Coffeeshops ...Stix seems to offer good weed , but not my kind of sit and chill vibe ...and they ALWAYS seem to try to sell you more than you asked for ..."this Much OK " 1.8 grams ... "I said ONE gram " ..."this OK" ....1.4 grams ..."I SAID ONE GRAM" .... Though I hear if you're a regular and buy in large Quantities they WILL do considerable discounts ... Barneys Lounge on Reg.Gracht is about as close to the kitty ,but they pissed us off early with the crappy Grinspoon ...the Rembrandtplein shops are way to pricey .Don't think we bought in any of them , not even a hash joint ...but did look at menus ...I know most of you scoff at pre-rolls ...and there is a lot of crap out there .
But there are the Joint Police out there we found ...
We were in CS Waterworld den Haag ...2 dutch guys bought a weed joint , sat next to us and proceeded to unroll and
dump on the table the contents ...seperate weed from tabac ...call the budtender over and show him the amount of weed vs.tabac ...get a new free joint, do the same thing , reroll the two piles of weed with one Js worth of tabac , stashed the rest and smoked their joint ...told us they were on a quest to make pre-rolls a better deal, wrote down a thing or two in their little black book, and were on their way ...good luck guys ... BTW -the expert did pick "Jetlag " from the Waterworld Menu as the best we found in den Haag ( and interestingly enough the budtender DID tell us that was their best weed ,even over the pricier strains ...
Then after a week cat sitting ...it was on to Leeuwarden for what turned into a five day weekend ....where rock-n-roll bands float down the gracht playing the Key to the Highway
