Identification in Coffee Shops

Never had a problem with my photo drivers license in the past. i believe that dutch law states you must be able to indentify yourself at all times. if you enter a coffeeshop you must do so in regard to the dutch law so if you cant legally identify who you are, where your from and your age then you shouldnt enter regardless if your 18 or over it makes no difference.

the law as for coffeeshops is they must be sure you are over 18!!
@ 55 anyone can see i am over 18 so no problem.
So ID is not a compulsory for everyone only if there may be a question mark over age.

actually you are wrong if you dont have id when asked by the tender , you will be asked to leave, then again most shops dont ask for id

Well i think i am right!!
and 10 bud tenders in amsterdam told me it was an age thing only.
Allso when i was in anyday when a police check was carried out the police asked for id for all the young people when i asked if she wanted my id she laughed and confirmed it was not an id check but an age check.
so i would like to know where you get your information about this??
i will ask another 10 more coffeeshops this week and post back about id for old people.to find there opinions as regarding identification.
It is law as from 2005 that all adults must carry id and produce it if asked by officials police ect not coffeeshop owners or employes.
so the police who do the coffeeshop control are wrong??when they told me it was an age thing and not about identification.
so where did you get your info regarding this subject

Voyagers asked me for ID in August, and I'm 39. The budtender told me that although I was 'clearly' over 18 it was huisregels. No such servile, lickspittle bullshit from Nel, so Utopia all the way for me and Voyagers can go suck The Man's cock some more, as far as I'm concerned

Lets put this into perspective. If the owner of the goodies wants to cover his or her ass and they have never met you before then it is only polite to show some ID. It aint a big deal. Their shop, their livelihood, their rules. Live with it.

Its not about someone obviously being of legal age.

If the police perform a random search of a coffeeshop, and there is someone without proper ID, the shop could be closed. By asking everyone for proof of age, the shop is covering its ass so to speak.

I have no problem with that....some shops choose not to card customers....thats a risk they run in the event of a search by authorities.

The police told me it was only about age!!
and i have been in 2 controls as they call them.
and the coffeeshop can not be closed if someone doesnt have ID it is nothing to do with the shop.
only if there is under 18.
If the police sent a 55year old in a coffeeshop and bought weed without an id check,they cant be charged with anything as they have broken any rules.
When i say police i am on about the coffeeshop control unit.
Or has the law change in the last few months.
