Diolch yn fawr! Ah, I am jealous despite being there on Friday; and glad you think so. So many travelogues have made me feel the same prior to going.

Penultimate day coming up...

Day 4

Shower, dressed and today’s morning spliff of Lemon OG rolled we head over to the larger Hunters’ coffeeshop on Warmoestraat, again grabbing some chocolate twists for breakfast on the way. The main reason for calling here first was to get some more Chem Dawg, of which I had 1.3g for 17E. We sat at the window after grabbing some drinks to begin the first smoke of the day. The music here was rather loud, (I happened to record a small video clip on my phone and you can’t hear us talking at all) at that time of the morning we weren’t really feeling it. After some deliberation over places we had yet to visit, we decided to hit Abraxas 2 for a smoke on route to 1e Hulp.

First though, we needed to stock up and quickly ventured over to Green Place, where we bought 5g Lemon OG, 1g White OG and 1g Blueberry Cheese then made our way to Abraxas 2. I remember this shop when it was chocolata, although that was in 2006 and the place was gutted; they had a counter to buy weed and that was it. We walked in to find that the shop had the same theme as the main shop and so in a stoned state it was easy to think that you were just in an extension to the original, not separate premises. Anyhow, no purchases here, just a lovely morning smoke in their upstairs area, which was empty barring an Asian dude busy on an iPad.

I took some more photos of the different canvasses they had on the walls. They were different to the others that predominantly feature a bird, and one in particular I could have taken home with me!

We tried the White OG for the first time here. My first thoughts were “how have we not smoked this until now?” To be fair we hadn’t had a bad ‘OG’ strain all trip so it wasn’t a surprise, but it was a top smoke, smooth and strong. Unusual smell and taste, I couldn’t really explain it in any other way than distinct. We plough through the Chem-Dawg and most of the Lemon OG and wander back out into the streets in a haze. I post a smelly proof bag full of ground up weed (mixed strains) for the mrs and I when we get home. Phone out, map consulted, bearings found…the time has come. We start the mission to 1e Hulp.

I wasn’t looking forward to this as my feet were already battered and it was probably the longest walk of the trip (it felt longer than MY anyway) and by the time we got there I was ready to sit down. Inevitably the weed menu distracted me from the pain of my aching feet and after some looking and sniffing we settled on some G13 Amnesia which smelled just beautiful. Mate bought Tangerine Dream (I didn’t notice we even smoked it) and NYC Diesel.

We settled into the cave-like seating area behind the pool table in the downstairs section. The G13 Amnesia was excellent. The taste was delicious. The strength was very high….I almost immediately felt my eyes sink into my face, my head soar and the pains in my feet subside. My mate and I decide to play some pool while the other halves chat and roll some more joints. I felt that my stoned state was actually helping me on the pool table; I’m not a bad player anyway but I was hitting long shots, angled shots, doubles, chip shots to high levels of success. I didn’t lose a game. Everybody agreed the walk out to 1e Hulp was worth it. Might look into a tram next time though.
We smoked up and set off back into the centre of town.

First stop Grey Area to find a new strain, Chocolope Kush, on the menu. We bought some along with more OG Kush before heading to Hard Rock for a burger. I won’t bore you with the details of that; but it was way too hot in there and the whole time I was aware it was our last night and just wanted to order up, eat and get back out in quick fashion.

Over dinner it was decided that Dolphins would be the next port of call, as it was nearby (less walking) and we all fancied chilling out for a few hours smoking session. This didn’t go to plan however and we somehow ended up going into Easy times on the way there. It was a good idea; it was the only place during the whole trip that I found some Strawberry Haze. I absolutely loved it last time out, this time it was still a good smoke but it didn’t have that same taste. Bit pricey too at 14E/g. Eventually we made it to Dolphins where we proceeded to smoke most of our ganja, leaving 3 hours or so later in a nice relaxed state.

Close-to-home was the decided stipulation for the final venue of the evening, but not before stocking up some more. Hit up Blues Brothers for more Sticky Fingers Haze, Blueberry Haze and Super Lemon Haze then head to Resin to finish off our last night.

Resin got me thinking…..”6 years and only now I’ve found this coffeeshop”….. it is fucking awesome in there. Decent seats this time, very comfortable and I even had a footstool, complete comfort. Here we treated it as our last night and pretty much followed a theme of roll, smoke, pass, roll, smoke, pass…this continued for two hours of so before I realised the time (11.45pm) and went to purchase some more bud. Went for the Resin Haze and Buddha Sister. My notes say little but I remember the RH being a nice smoke while the BS was nothing to write home about. Mate went for the next one up on the H2O hash list, the Gold Resin @ 30E/g. This was even stronger than the diesel haze resin and I think the prime reason for my notes suddenly becoming non-existent. I do remember the green lighting altering the colour of a flame and the cherry of a joint, which I thought was cool. Suitably the most stoned I got all trip, on the last night.

The night finished with us leaving at 1am, smoking for another 30-45mins out the hostel window then hitting the sack for the final time.

Really enjoyed the report and an awesome smoke list. I'm just too much of a lightweight to sample the range of gear you did and as such we only really smoked in the late afternoon/evenings :D

How much did you budget for and spend on smokes roughly may I ask?

It's all good mate; as long as you enjoyed. Whatever suits you is the way to go...if you aren't having fun, what's the point?
My tolerance is high due to the fact I've smoked daily for the last god-knows-how-many-years.

Well the mrs and I took 1,360 euros (£1100), spend 180 on our share of the accommodation charge (it was recommended to us - bastards - cheap and unfortunately the nastiest place Ive ever stayed. Anywhere.) so that leaves just under 1200....I'd say at least half of that went on bud. Same for my mate. Between the four of us we definitely spent over 1000euro on weed. Easily.

By the end I'm pretty sure we passed the 100g mark (between 4)....I will confirm this once I've written up the last day.

Nice write up fella. I was out 7-11 Oct and really enjoyed the nyc diesel from 1ehulp. The Mrs and i enjoyed a limonada in exactly the same place as you did in your photo at Amnesia on our last day before we left for the station. We were blessed with the weather too not one drop of rain !!!!

Day 5

The final morning began with us waking up, needing to get out on the street as soon as possible - time was running out – but also not wanting to face up to reality of our final day, and everything that comes with it. The dragging of bags all day, time literally becoming precious (if it wasn’t enough already)…the train to the airport watching the city get smaller and smaller and disappearing once again…

….I hate that part, and there was a lot of smoking to fit into 6.5 hours. We had already agreed that the last day would consist of visits to a coffeeshop of each person’s choice, with a 12pm buy n fly at Grey Area squeezed in. Chocolate twists devoured (yet again…but so good…what can I say I am a creature of habit) we headed to Green Place in the drizzle (only day it rained all trip) first and got a final 5g bag of Lemon OG. While I was enjoying this bud so much, all I could think about was how long it would be before I got to smoke it again.

We left at around 10.30am and headed to HGF, stopping at Abraxas2 for a hash cake each for the plane and a branded grinder to take home. Mate bought a massive grinder for 50E and the dragon dynamite truffles elsewhere. Not much happened at HGF, we smoked up all our remaining buds and lots of the Lemon OG. Oh, and we had to get some more of the NYD one last time. Gonna miss this flavour!! Delicious….Rolled a big J of the final Diesel buds for later.

Realising it had passed midday, we shifted over to Grey Area. The store had just opened and the queue was out the door. As I said, time is precious and I couldn’t be bothered wasting time standing in the street so the Mrs and I decided to go straight on to Amnesia (I wanted one more Limonana…), while my mate and his stayed to queue as he really wanted some more OG Kush, which we understood.

On we went to Amnesia almost at capacity, however we managed to find seats near the bar. Different tender this time…very animated and eager to interact with anyone and everyone. We grabbed some Amnesia Lemon and Malana Sweet Cream, along with a blueberry shake and the delicious Limonana. I sat and prepared to roll a joint when I realised I had the NYD spliff in my pocket. Couldn’t be arsed to wait the time it took to roll a joint and sparked it. Eventually my mate turns up some 20-30 minutes later with his beloved OG…they also bought some Candy Jones which was really nice. The Amnesia Lemon got torched here along with the remaining Lemon OG and some MSC which was better than the piece we got from Hunters earlier in the week. It was slightly softer and tasted so much better, with a stronger high.

During this I overheard the loud but friendly tender had told the barmaid to make poffertjes for everyone. Thought it was a joke as the coffeeshop was full but some 15 minutes later he walks around the shop saying ‘Poffertjes! Poffertjes for everyone!” like a mum calling her family to the table and places a plate of warm raspberry syrup-covered poffertjes on every table. I love this place!

By 1.30pm it was time to head to Blues Brothers for a few hours for a final smoke. Here we bought 40E Amnesia Haze (delicious with a lovely fuzzy-headed high) 10E Super Silver Haze and 10E Super Lemon Haze, both sampled previously. The roll-smoke-pass-roll-smoke-pass routine began again as we aimed to get as high as possible in the little time we had left. Mission accomplished, we all felt baked like a baker in a bakery upon leaving. I had made one final spliff for the walk to the train station….which got passed around before coming back to me at the very last point I could smoke it, so I inhaled a final few lungfuls of the best ganja I will smoke for who-knows-how-long, took in the surroundings for one last time and headed into Centraal station.

Once on the train, we ate our hash cakes so they would kick in when we got on the plane. This worked…we were all out-of-it for the majority of the flight. I even slept through take-off. Another trip done, possibly the last, probably the best.
