Hi Ill be going to Amsterdam on Friday the 9th of November (6Am - Cork Airport IRE) and ill be there untill Sunday night (10PM). Really looking forward to this trip it will be my first time there, I'll be going with my girlfriend, she doesn't normally smoke but will try vaporizers over there.

I'm going to be staying over at the Bastion Deluxe Hotel Amsterdam / Centrum-Noord ( Rode Kruisstraat 28 Amsterdam 1025 KN ). This place is a little out of the way but I don't really mind as the accommodation was cheap and packaged with the flights.
Does anyone know the quickest routes into the center? Is there taxi's and roughly how much am I looking at? Oh and what are the coffeeshops around to the hotel like, can anyone name a few :)?

Also what things would you reccomend me to do while in amsterdam, besides the obvious smoking weed?
  • Try BHO.
  • Visit the Zoo.
  • Visit the Cannabis Muesum.
  • Have a wander around the Vondelpark.
  • Visit the redlight district.
Whats the nightlife like over their what should I expect is there anything I should avoid?

Which coffeeshops should I visit, and is there some that I shouldn't waste my time on?
I already am dead set on visiting the following coffeeshops, if any of these are dire just let me know then, Im only going from seeing menus, videos and getting advise from friends.
  • Paradox
  • AnyDay
  • Amnesia
  • Grey Area
  • The Green Place
  • Stones Corner

Again, another question. Where would I pick up a cheap enough glass bong? What kind of quality and size would I be looking at for around 70Euro.

Thank you guys :) Ill post up plently of pics when I come back, I really want to make the most of this trip so where else to come for advise :)

Hi, it's nice that you've got a list of what you'd like to do and you might get some or all of it done :D , but Amsterdam's not like a normal holiday destination, it has coffeeshops selling mind altering and time distorting substances and it's this that might shape your visit far more than you might imagine so be prepared to be flexible and go with the flow.
I dont know your hotel area but it has buses and bike hire no doubt.
Put all your wishlist into your smartphone map/gps and you can just do it when you feel like it.

Some holidays you say right we'll do this and this tomorrow and you do it but in Amsterdam you can call in to a coffeeshop for a morning break and emerge an hour or two hours later with your head in a totally different place to when you went in. Have fun, fun, fun.

And check some threads, Vapes are becoming more common. :D

If your girl is not smoker but has the "When in Rome" mentality take this advice. Use a vape bag with a full gram in it. Let her take the whole bag at her pace. Most people have unreal expectation of cannabis which is why it's so common for them to claim they don't feel it. Have fun!

I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

The free ferry behind Centraal Station will get you to Noord. It doesn't look like much of a walk from the ferry landing.

Here is a coffeeshop map showing 5 shops in Noord. One looks to be on the route to your hotel.

Click and drag it to Noord.

Enjoy
