Reformed Stoner: Oct 15 - 19

Post by GDSean »

Hi everyone

From 1999 to 2007 I used to smoke almost every day, usually quite a few every morning and evening, but it made me lazy (or rather it heightened my natural laziness) so in 2007 I quit.

So this is a travelouge from a reformed stoner

This means that my tolerance will be extremely low but I'll be able to give a different perspective of the weed, hopefully this will be useful for other people in the same situation as me.

I have been to Amsterdam about 6 times in the last 5 years so i know the place fairly well. Its definitely my favorite city; weed, friendly people, sexual freedom. So you can picture my excitement this morning when i dragged myself to the train station at 4am! I'm on said train now, then I catch a bus, then finally my flight from Leeds airport! Woohooo!!!

Sorry guys. I had some technology issues which meant I lost all my notes on the trip. Didn't realise until I got back, so lots of the names and detailed effects of the weeds got lost and muddled in my head.

Here is what I can remember:

Day 1: Left my house at 4am to get the train, then bus, then plane, then train. Finally arrived about 10am on the Monday morning and made my way to the boat I was staying on. If you haven't tried staying on one of the boats on Pier 4 I definitely recommend it, especially if your travelling alone and don't like dorms. It was my own private 1 bed room a 10 min walk from the station and 5 min walk from Voyagers (plus it only cost 17EUR per night) After settling in and having a quick nap I set out to Voyagers. I have been there before and didn't think it was anything special but it always seemed to get amazing reviews on this forum so I headed over anyway. Picked up a gram of Super Bio Lemon Haze and this is where things got a bit harder to remember, lol. I do remember it hitting me very strong and being uncomfortable on the stools so I decided to go for a walk. I always do a ton of walking in Amsterdam and must have been moseying for about 2 hours before I decided to stop, I found myself outside Lost In Amsterdam. This is one of my Favourite places in Amsterdam because it's comfortable, relaxing and because it takes me a while to get through a gram on my own I don't feel pressured into buying more weed like I do at some Coffeeshops. Got talking to a few guys from New Zealand whilst there and before I knew it the sun was beginning to set, so I did what most tourists do when the sun goes down; I had another joint for the road and when for a stroll round the RLD. Always an eye opening experience. Ended up having an early night as it had been a long day and drifted off into a deep coma-like sleep.

Day 2: Woke up, rolled up, smoked, went back to sleep = best morning ever. Woke up again about 11am and realised it was about time I got my lazy arse out of bed, so I had a shower and headed out. I decided to go to one of my favourite coffeeshops; Paradox. One of the main reasons I like Paradox is that they do 0.5 gram bags, so I can buy a couple of different strains to try out. I bought (found with the help of http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org) 0.5gr of Amnesia and 0.5gr of Kandy Kush. Had a big smoke of the Amnesia and chilled out listening to the calm relaxing classical music they had playing and read an e-book for about 2 hours. The Amnesia make me incredibly immersed in the book and I had some strange looks when I gasped at the end of Jofferies wedding (no spoiler, just in-case people are watching the TV show, lol) Next I skinned up a Kush joint smoked it and headed out to Cinema Pathe Du Munt and watched Ted. Very funny film, not sure I would have liked it so much had I not been super-stoned, but the partying with Flash Gordon bit had me in stitches. Next I went to a cafe in the RDL and spent the night smoking and watching football. Good times!

I think it was called Hotelboat Angeline. I got a great rate because it was booked last minute and they'd had someone drop out.

great rate for the boat. you get your own cabin with shared bathroom/toilet facilities right? Was there a common area as well for cooking/eating?

For 17 eu a night that is a great deal!

I think I got it at half price because of the timing but it's still a good deal if you're travelling alone.
The bathroom/toilet is shared with 1 other room (with 2 occupants) but there isn't a cooking area. (however breakfast buffet is supplied and very nice) So probably no good if you don't want to eat out. I personally love having the excuse to go to a resturaunt every day, hah
