The Weedpass? Is it dead, or is it still alive?
http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2 ... lub_pa.php
Let's take a good look at what this actually means....
If the Dutch residents and/or citizens no longer have to register as a member of a so-called coffeeshop-club, there is no club, because a club without members can not exist.
This would imply that coffeeshops will remain just coffeeshops, and can not refuse foreign visitors for not being able to register as a member, as there is no club to register for.
If I see it correctly, this means the Weedpass is definitely dead, and can be buried without any ado.
Only a members club can set up criteria to refuse members, a coffeeshop is a leisure business, nobody may be refused to enter an leisure establishment, except for age criteria, under Dutch and international Law.
So, although the VVD wants to hold on to the only part of the Weedpass left intact, the sheer discrimination, it will not be possible to discriminate without facing legal consequences.
RIP, Weedpass, may you rot in shit!
Nol van Schaik, still smoking....
fingers crossed!!

Mmmm it's an absolutely great idea from Nol et al but why does he think they will be special and allowed a "Hallmark" scheme , when the rest of the country is on the Weedpass ? If you remember we all got shot down by that mob when we were all saying "Amsterdam won't allow it" Amsterdams Mayor doesn't want it" ?
So why now are they saying basically what a few of us were saying ? Because of the Hallmark scheme ? Is Nol the Mayor of Haarlem ? Mm I'm confused ?????
Please don't turn this back on me as a hater , I'm sure a few more of you are thinking , asking the same questions ? I'm just confused over the whole matter and at the moment it's all semantics

+1
My thoughts exactly. Apparantly the Mayor of Haarlem supports the scheme, and in theory it sounds like it could work. This situation is not at all clear, I cannot make head nor tails of it, despite how many times I read articles.

At the moment the Political parties are not making any statements on the weedpass so nothing we read will be official, nor are the southern provinces releasing police figures for street dealing. It is still very much a live subject in negotiations to form a government.

Keep calm and make honey oil, ice-o-lator, or cannabutter...

I don't even know why I bother commenting in these threads... how many are there about this one subject anyway?
If you count past 2, there's one too many already...
Let's see how many more threads are started with the same or related topic... Any guesses as to how many before 1 Jan 2013? My guess is 30...
People should just chill out and relax. For those living in other countries, take this time to be supportive of movements in your own country. Hmm...???

Maybe someone should start a book on the possible outcomes. But I've always been on the other side of the fence in that war; it's always been a mystery to me how to keep calculating your overround when the amount of money on the options keeps shifting.

How about all Wietpas related threads go into a 'Lazy stoner Wietpas news and opinion thread' where updates, rants, opinions and news articles can be posted and discussed safely.

Ha ha. Very funny. I've been tilting at the windmill of US legalization for years. Because of a lot of factors(the medical users going against the recreational users, the federal government, etc), it is hopeless. All 3 of the bills currently out will fail. Or if they succeed they'll get crushed by the feds. Legalization is a lost cause in the US, at least in my lifetime(I'm 36 now). The people who would agitate for it are either making too much money or getting too much weed to fight for it.

SGWain you make some good points. But, keep in mind one thing. Repeal of alchohol happened after states made their own repeals, same like you would have if one state passes.
Washington is very likely to pass as is Colorado.
So isn't it better to stay activist, do whatever you can to win one or all 3 states.
Write letters, articles, call up talk shows, and if you can donate to one of those causes, look money does help win.
Do you want to cower from the Feds? Isn't it time for a showdown?
They won't be able to go against the popularity of it.
In Holland they can get away with this only because of the laws of the other countries. That sent coffeeshop tourists in the first place. And you will still have actual coffeeshops for those who get the pass. Hopefully enough will get the pass.
If 2 states pass and people from nearby states start to visit and spend money, local economy will want it. Thats 2 states and you still have all the medical MJ which might incl. also Arkansas now and surely Mass, that great Eastern hope, will now have MEdical and decrim. Surely in 2 years Mass will have legal.
Now in your est. the Feds are going to need how many more billions of taxpayer money
to staamp their madness????
At some point Congress will discuss these increasing Billions.
So they have to stop their oppostion. Oh it will still take time. I am thinking 5 more years. But
let the fun begin, have fun with Activism.

Laugh out loud back at you...
I know this is a forum...., dude.
However, it's not just about weed and Amsterdam, at least not the last time I looked.
Maybe I missed something, wait one...... Ok, I just checked, I haven't.
People post threads, people reply to threads, like this one for instance. Nothing enlightening... next...
Wait for it..... ok, now there are two threads. No, wait for it.... now there are three... yawn...
Is this some type of contest to see who can start the most threads?
...or who has the most reads or replies?
...or is it a psychological anomaly that drives some to start multiple threads discussing the same topic?
Even NotSoFastEddie has started doubling up on his threads/posts, thanks NSFE for keeping us informed.
He updates the masses without muddying the waters so to speak with numerous threads when one is sufficient and possibly more effective.
For the "all one needs to know about Amsterdam is puff, puff, pass" crowd, wait for it........................................................

Ack let them do it Ron, its hurting nobody and beside's you are going to say it until you are blue in the face and its making you look like you are beating your head off a wall. Most people who use forums do not use the search function.
