Coffeeshop Interview

Post by kayb »

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum but thought it would be the best place to come for some advice. I've got an interview later this week in a fairly well-known coffeeshop and I'm looking for some tips!

Also, I have no idea what to wear as some people have told me I should dress "casual" but my instinct is telling me to make the effort and be smart. Any coffeeshop workers on here who could give me an idea of what to expect it would be much appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Interview 101...
The choice of clothing depends on the type of job one is interviewing for...
... one wouldn't wear a three piece business suit to interview for a dishwasher position,
... just as one wouldn't wear shorts and a t-shirt to interview for a loan officer position in a bank.
Take note of the clothing that is worn by the staff on a daily basis...
For your interview, you should wear clothing that is similar in style but one level higher, ie... if they are dressed casually, dress smart casual.
Your clothes should be clean, no holes or stains...
PERSONAL HYGIENE - you should be freshly bathed, hair combed/brushed, facial hair trimmed neatly (if you are a dude), and don't overdue cologne/perfume/etc, subtle is nice.
Good luck...
...

edit - nothing to do with clothing, but I would also recommend that you are sober... just saying...

Christ, I doubt he is a bum, or completely thick.

Good advice on the clothing though, maybe go casual-smart, not too much of either then.
