Three Days in the Dam (w/ pics) Oct 22 - 24

Post by Roundthewheel »

So I FINALLY had the chance to visit Amsterdam last week while touring around Europe. I spent three days power walking from coffeeshop to coffeeshop looking at as many strains as possible and picking up grams of only the best. I ended up smoking ~22 grams of herb and 2 grams of hash in those days + a space cake.

A few observations:
  • Amsterdam is F'n awesome. It's really fun to smoke so openly in public with other heads from all over the world. People are generally all very nice and good spirited. In all of the places I visited in Europe, Amsterdam had the best vibe.
  • 60% of the coffeshops seem to be supplied by the same group (mediocre herb) - the other 40% are independent and have some good flavors
  • the BEST herb that I saw in Amsterdam is on par with good herb in Oregon, California, Colorado, but not top shelf chronic (I don't want to offend anyone with that statement, just stating my opinion.)
  • They LOVE Hazes in Amsterdam and the love certainly rubbed off on me. It's like we love kush on the West Coast. Every coffeeshop had multiple haze flavors. It was really great to start the day puffing huge joints of haze before working into the heavier indicas as the day progressed
  • I do dabs all day and enjoy full melt bubble, but the hash I found (see below) was not full melt clear dome. It was decent hash, but nothing notable.
On to the nug shots:

Kandy Kush (Grey Area)

Super Lemon Haze (I forget coffeeshop)

Silver Bubble (Grey Area)

White Russian (Sheeba)

Champagne Haze (Club Media)

Amnesia Ice-o-later Hash

Nugs not pictured: several varieties of Super Silver Haze, Casey Jones, Bubblegum, Blueberry, a couple other batches of Super Lemon Haze, Sticky Fingers Haze, Strawberry Haze, Chocolope, Amnesia Haze, OG Kush, White Widow, a5 Haze, Northern Lights, Pot o' Gold... and a few others that I'm forgetting.

My favorite coffeeshops of the trip: Grey Area (Awesome bud tender. Very cool, patient dude.), Club Media, Dampkring, Barney's, Bulldog (not for buying herb, but smoking/chilling), Grasshopper

Thanks for the report, agree about the bud and the hazes. (I miss hazes a bit out here in Cali :) )
Because life is too short to smoke bad bud.

Yes it's true....people don't understand how great the weed in the western states is...also bc bud is awesome......all the weed in the dam is not good...there are a lot of rip offs.....stuff labeled wrong, not cured well. Ect....Ect....but what amsterdam does have is its basically over the rainbow...it's a magic place where stoners can go and not only be tolerated, but embraced....the city is designed to be enjoyed by stoners......also the city has many other vices to enjoy......so many nice people who all have a love for cannabis.....many hashes to choose from..it's truly a pot Mecca ........if America ever gets legal weed, it will never be like amsterdam, not ever...I suspect the best we can hope for is what California has in the Dispensary system....but DUI blood limits are coming..and that's a whole new bag of shit...amsterdam IS truly awesome, but America has some cool smaller places.......San Francisco is fantastic and weed friendly...also there are some amazing sky towns in Colorado that are very pro pot......I'm glad you enjoyed the haze..California needs more haze...

Awesome pictures here, thks for sharing!!

It's not the first time that I read/hear this statement.Haven't had the chance to make my own opinion yet!!What is the main difference between US finest and AMS'top bud according to you: potency, taste, processing, curing?
ended up smoking ~22 grams of herb and 2 grams of hash in those days
You should have done the opposite IMHO...there are lots of great import hashes to be found in the dam, and as it might not be full melt stuff in most cases, I doubt you can find a fresh unpressed Morrocan goodness or a gooey mind-numbing Indian charas that easily in the US :) ...

Sorry for the delay! The Amnesia Ice was from Grasshopper.

I also picked up a gram of Sour Apple from Grasshopper. It smelled very nice, smoke was decent.

Too many tell us its full melt, as you say it never is the real mcoy clear dome which is real full melt not just 73 bag so its got to be full melt. it is annoying.

Nice bud shots 8)
