Washington & Colorado legalize recreational use !

Post by nooris »

I like this a lot... Washington, Oregon and Colorado set to allow recreational use in TWO DAYS.

Edit: Too bad for Oregon

Tom Tancredo, a former Colorado Republican congressman, argues that prohibition of alcohol did not work in the 1920s – consumption flourished, as did violence and extortion. He said: "Cannabis can be used safely and responsibly by adults. Limited law enforcement resources should not be wasted on this, they should be used on preventing crimes that harm others."
Baffling how this isnt the way everyone sees it. Common sense surely?

Common sense, nope.... common cents ($$$) yes...
The investors behind the war on drugs have profited billions and they haven't been shy in spending some of it lobbying to continue this lost cause...
... and yet "We The People" continue to vote into office those who oppose any type of recognition in the medicinal value of cannabis, not to mention being less harmful than tobacco, alcohol, and many pharma products (prescribed and over the counter).
...sad

Ok, listen up stoners and those who support cannabis in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado - less than 24 hours until the big day.
=Everybody 18 years of age or older is registered to vote......CHECK
=Everybody voting knows where the nearest polling station is located and the hours of operation.......CHECK
Wait, anyone want to guess how accurate the checks are?
I'm willing to wager that MANY eligible stoners won't vote mainly because they didn't register. Something about BIG BROTHER or some other stupid shit... too stoned!
California had an opportunity two years ago and failed miserably. If any one of THESE States passes their measure, Cali will never be able to live down the shame of a missed opportunity. They should be living in shame anyway, bunch of posers.   \
Happy Mother Fucking Trails to the voting booth stoners...

I hope your wrong Uncle Ron. If U.S.A could change then we all might be free. Well that's how I feel.

I cast my vote in 24 hours for one of the most important election cycles in modern history. The fate of my country...and yes the world is at stake.

On a side note...there are also two people running for President.

The biggest unknown: Would the federal government allow marijuana markets to materialize? My guess is if it passes in any of these states the feds will crack down harder than they already have on California medical dispensaries.

Thx for the info...

"Among the problems: No one knows for certain how many people are buying black-market weed. No one knows how demand would change if marijuana were legal. No one knows how much prices would drop, or even what black-market pot smokers are paying now, though economists generally use a national estimate of $225 an ounce based on self-reported prices compiled online."

$225 an ounce?  wishful thinking...
WTF do economists know about black-market cannabis prices?
That's like asking a group of middle aged white men (some clergy) their scholarly opinion on the female reproductive system.
Fucking morons...

Sorry, but your side note is wrong... There are at least 5 people running for president.
I will be voting for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate. There's also Virgil Goode who is the Constitution party candidate, and the Green party candidate whose name escapes me right now.
Then there are those other two who I believe you're referring to...I can't stand either one of them.

Unfortunately I'm not in one of the three states listed above, so I can't vote on recreational use. I'm not sure my state would ever go for that. Still trying to convince my girl we need to move to CO if this passes.

Yeah I'm voting for Johnson too, Virgil Goode was my rep. when I lived in VA and is an absolute loon. A third party is a lost cause in America... it has been rigged since the McCarthy days.

My post wasn't serious or political.
