Just back from 3 days in A-Dam 18-21.
What is going on with the weed????????
Tried loads of different sorts from Grey Area,Barneys,Voyagers,Dampkring,Home grown fantasy....... the list goes on. I did not find one tasty weed that I was happy with, didnt even bring any home, loads of the CS selling the same weeds just named differently, and some of it tastes like Detol or TCP!!!!!
Had some tea light from Grey area that I can only describe as vile!!!!
@ a minimum of 14 Euro per G the price is now far to much for the quality of the bud
I was glad to get home and get in to my own Jars of goodies. I have never been able to say it before, but I can 100% declare that the weed that I smoke at home every day is better than any I found this week.
I have been travelling to A-Dam 3-4 times a year from 1998 and I have never been able to make that statement,I came home dissapointed...........
A short but not so sweet visit to the Mokum... :(
Of my many visits, I've experienced something similar a couple of times, most of the gear seemed to taste the same.
I think my system became overloaded having smoked copious amounts of the lovely, no longer being able to distinguish one strain from the next.
There are extremes in flavor profiles like Cheese vs OG#18 vs NYCD which are easily distinguishable from one another, but if the market it saturated with similar strains...
...then it's a matter of breeding. Sometimes the difference between strains can be as little as one back-cross, or using a Mexican Haze instead of a Cambodian Haze when breeding Amnesia, etc...

Can't speak on GA's Tea Light, but I've never been disappointed with any gear I've scored from them.
I realize this doesn't mean they haven't had sub-par gear in the past, just that I've been fortunate not to have experienced any. :)

Regardless of quality, I agree that the ever increasing 14 Euro average is ridiculous.
I noted a spike in prices back in Aug/Sep 2010, and they've yet to level off.
The cost of growing hasn't dramatically increased, and neither has the risk. Simply put - greed.
Talk about a captive customer base... anyone familiar with Ma Bell and the Baby Bells?
50-60E for ice-o?
16E for a 8-9wk Indica?

...

Completely agree , the majority of the weed looked pretty trichomeless to me  also the Hash wasn't up to much either .

Thankfully good company and a few strains made it a fucking grade A trip

On a day trip to Alkmaar I could not find a coffeeshop to have a nice relaxing break from the cold wind. Lovely town by the way. Very pretty. Anyhow I saw a cop, approached him and asked him directions to the nearest coffeeshop where I could buy MJ.

He gave me a measured look as if to consider whether my request was genuine then pointed me to the local coffeeshop which I'd never have found without his help. Forget the name Seem to remember it being by the river or a big canal just outside the old town center. They had pinball and tables in the glassed off smoking area. Pretty packed as I recall.

As juvenile as it sounds ( was well into my 30's at the time too  ). That is one of my favorite memories of the Netherlands. It gave me a real kick to just have a normal respectful encounter with a public servant the way in which they should be utilized.[/quote]

I think the name was "the Brug" coffee shop and on fri during the cheese market they have buy one get half more for free, sweet deal
