Blue skies.
MmmHmm...sounds like you're still badgering people for a write-up. Standing around, looking all Aqualung-ish, wanting something juicy to read.

What about all the 4-20 trip reports that were never done, mine  included? Didn't hear you going off about that, now. Or are April visitors somehow exempt from submitting accounts? Amazing how many people were there in April, versus how many travelogues showed up.

Travelogues are WAY overrated. Hardly read any, myself.
:D :D Ha ha, you're flash you can do yours on the run :D :D. I've done loads of TR's but I'm too modest to dig them out for you :|.

Last statement belongs here. https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 7&start=60

I feel a fever coming on  :D.

What a long strange trip it is.

Seriously, just because I was able (thanks again, James) to bang one out, on the run, on my first attempt, doesn't mean I read them (all). Some, I stay waaay the hell away from. Most aren't even viewed, especially those advertising many photos. Just gags my mobile phone.

I'm sure that I miss out on a lot by not reading everyone's reports, but so be it.

Bored by travelogues? Get over here yourself then and see how it is to take notes while you're supposed to have fun, taking the time to post etc... only for some lazy tosser to tell you how shitty it is.

There are several people on this board who know their stuff regarding weed. Why not take advantage of their experience? Reading up to date trip reports is a no brainer when planning a trip to Mokum. All IMHO of course.

What you say is true. But, here's an example of where that left me in the Dam's dynamic coffeeshop scene.

Prior to my October visit, I did read some fresh travelogues to get an idea of the tasty hashes available. Get to Mokum...no Grand Cru at Utopia...no finger hash at Paradox. :( This is why I take travelogues with a grain of salt. Anyone who's ever been to town, knows things can and do change. Usually, while I'm on the plane doing the transatlantic shuffle.

Visited Amsterdam for years without the 'assistance' of ACD and always seemed to survive intact. ACD only makes it better. I would often rather blaze my own way, than try to follow someone else's path to Crippled Heights. Kind of a drag if you get all psyched for something the forum is raving about, only to NOT have the same experience during your visit.

Travelogues can be highly entertaining - see Rusty Shackleford's epic stag - but are overrated, imo.

What you say is also true. Like when i got to Voyagers last time and they had replaced the lemon skunk (my fave) with something else. Same with the grand cru from Utopia. Happens all the time. Luckily in both cases the replacement was pretty good. Nepal cream at Utopia and something equally yummy at Voyagers. ACD recs had got me standing in the shop even though they did not have my 1st choice I was still in a good shop where it is hard to go wrong.

Also like the idea of making your own story rather than following someone else. The mileage will vary but you'll make some more original discoveries. Myself I'm too sensitive and get upset when I go to a new coffeeshop and it turns out to be a shit rude rip off joint. It ruins my high for the day. ACD is wonderful for me that way. Also my trips tend to be so short I just cannot afford the time to make a bad purchase. ACD ends up being very useful for specific weed and hash recs.

I know what you mean though in general. If I had a lot more time in the dam. Like at least 2 weeks. I'd feel like I had enough time to 'waste' to be more adventurous.

ps - the finger hash at Paradox was really good last time I was there in late September.

i thought we all realized that a crop is just that...a crop...when it's gone...it's gone. The shops don't "get rid of it" ...the crop is simply sold out. no more. nada. sorry. if the grower doesn't grow it again, then, well there is no more.

there is always something else great that comes along...

...and it will sell out too...
