Ok, so

and Zippy have been hard at work down on the farm's kitchen.
Two items were made - tincture and cannabutter.
The butter will be used to make my own space cake or similar edibles. More information to follow later...
I also plan on using a variation of Green Dragon and adding it to recipes for Alcoholic Pralines...
I used a slight variation of the Green Dragon recipe, and it turned out about the same as most - dark green/brown in color with a distinct alcohol/cannabis odor.
I used 4 grams of finely ground bud (at 32 day cure) and 2 fl.oz./60 ml of 96%/192 proof GRAIN ALCOHOL (the good stuff). Also, a small plain paper coffee filter and a garlic press. I used the garlic press to extract the final goodness from the concoction.
A personal note to all who dare, ensure the kitchen is WELL ventilated because when decarboxing the grind in the oven, oh my the wonderful smell of cannabis permeates the entire area. Might not be so wonderful for some if the situation is untenable. Before opening a window, remember that what you smell so may others passing by...
Moving on...
I've read that the longer Uncle Ron's Elixir

sits, the alcohol and trichome mix develop a softer aroma/flavor profile. I'm interested in what that profile will be, in about a week or so. Regardless of how "softer" it might become, 192 proof alcohol is anything but soft.

Three days in the fridge (very young vintage

), anticipation got the best of me so I decided to begin sampling/self-tittering. I prepared myself in the usual fashion - empty stomach, no smoke, etc..., so I was set. The dosage I decided on was 1mL (approx. 3/4 of a teaspoon) mixed in a half glass of water (should have been juice) and down the hatch. First, 192 Proof, even when diluted in water, goes down like swallowing flames (damn). Second, the taste wasn't that pleasing either, nasty. Lastly, I knew strong alcohol has a bite, and that the tincture would be nasty this early on, but for those who dare...
About 1 hour or so later, I started to feel a calm peacefulness, my body becoming relaxed. It's been nearly 8 hours since I self-tittered and the effects are all but gone. I think the body buzz lasted about 5-6 hours, very nice. Finally I've experienced what people have been on about........ wow, emotional. Medicinally, oh my... oh my...

but in a very, very,

way.
Next...
With the cannabutter, I used a recipe found on the web called Tina Toker Cannabutter. The directions were/are quite simple (note: I reduced the ingredients by half except the water) - boil 1 cup of water; add 250 grams of butter to melt; reduce heat and add 35 grams of finely ground cannabis and stir. Allow the mixture to simmer (NOT BOIL!!!) at the lowest burner setting for up to 24 hours. I simmered the mixture for 6 hours, removed and strained using a wire mesh strainer and fine mesh permanent coffee filer. I would have used cheese cloth but decided to try this method. Lesson learned = a crock pot and cheese cloth are must have items.
I'll test the butter by way of cookies, but that will have to wait until tomorrow what the stores are open to purchase the necessary ingredients.
More to follow on the cookies, and my body adventures with tincture.
Here are a couple of pics... enjoy.
