Dutchman from New York visiting Amsterdam

Hi all,
I'll be visiting my homeland for the first time in April 2013. Spending 10 days in the Dam,...and making a sojourn to my fathers family home in Harlingen. I've been a avid smoker since the late 60's,...continue to propagate some of the better strains in my spare time,...and am looking forward to experience as many Dutch Doobies as possible while there.
I've heard the Grey Area is not to be missed,...and it's not far from where I'll be staying in Amsterdam. I'm not really into hustle and bustle,...so am looking for some nice laid back places rather than the touristy oriendted ones.
Any suggesteions for me both in Amsterdam,...and Harlingen? Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

Lol, you are not Dutch. :D

FYI, Grey Area is pretty much 100% US tourists. For a more local flavor try De Graal, 1e Hulp, Funky Monkey, Chapiteau......

Have fun

why isnt he Dutch cause he doesnt live there ,,wtf, Dutch heritage

Grey area, has some of the best bud in amsterdam, dont miss it just get there about 10 min or so before they open,
s for 1e hulp comfy shop , not the best gear, degraal great shop in the De Pijp, not a big fan of the other 2 so no comment,
i would also try Voyagers for good gear, hill street blues on the market is great for people watching,

imo Barneys , G house, bulldog chains are all big tourist traps with shite gear

hope this helps alittle peace

I was teasing him Matty. It is interesting to me that the Dutch don't really return to the 'motherland' that often.....like you read about Italians, Irish, etc. I guess when they left back in the day, they assimilated and left it at that.

See, I was right! Frieslanders are proudly separate. If you go to Friesland, I would consider renting a car and driving up the coast.

You have been posted on the April Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop (your favorite)
and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to show up, if they do you'll have a
T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=85345

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Enjoy
