100s of people get arrested each year smuggling via coaches
Re: bring things back by coach??
I've been caught on a bus - just pre-Christmas '07 I think. I'd flown over from the UK on a cheap flight, but hadn't arranged either accommodation or a flight back to London, so I caught a late train to Brussels, then bought a ticket there for a bus to London.
Arrived at Calais port at 5am, everyone was ordered off the bus, and a sniffer dog was run along the line.
28g of mixed gourmet weeds and hashes in a smelly proof bag was swiftly found "about my person"; result was a 50 euro fine and I was put on the next bus through, so arrived an hour later than otherwise.
But they made a bit of a production of handcuffing me in front of the other (mainly terrified Lithuanian) passengers, then leading me off for a strip search. I think my fellow passengers were surprised to see me at Victoria station before all of them had left on their onward journeys, as they probably imagined incarceration awaited me.
My advice would be to use the post, rather than carrying weed with you for 11 hours or so.

don't do it, the customs are very strict and search the whole coach. trust me iv been on many coach trips to Holland. how and when are you travelling?
dam aint the only place in nl
Re: bring things back by coach??
I've taken the coach quite a few times. The weirdest search was going to the Dam. Everyone off the coach, line up and get sniffed by a dog. I'd imagined sniffer dogs as fierce Alsatians, for some reason, but this was the cutest cocker spaniel you'd ever see. And he made a beeline for my bag, because my cats use it as a bed from time to time. I had no smokables on me – what sort of nutter takes it to Mokum, after all? – but I did have an uncleaned pipe somewhere, and didn't fancy being strip searched. But it means nothing if they go for your bag the way mine did; it's when they sit down as they've been trained to do when finding something that you've got to worry. Anyway, no problems.
Most of the coach journeys were OK. Once we missed the scheduled ferry and were rerouted via the tunnel, and had to put all our bags through the X-ray machines on the French side. The last time was the only one where we were pulled over on the British side, and we had to take all our bags off and pass through, though no dogs either time.
And no, I'm not going to tell you exactly how I got away with it on those occasions. But I did.

Use the search function Luke, use the search...zootdog wrote:anyone got coach before? and brought weed or hash back? if so how was it doing so, did they get searched? has anyone ever been searched or caught on the coach? please? many thanks
#1 mode of transportation to be searched - a coach (bus).
Not saying YOU will be searched, however your chances increase exponentially over other modes (airline travel notwithstanding).
Proper preparation and packaging, or not at all...

Yes I have. Yes I got caught. No I wouldn't recommend it. Nothing serious happened but it was not fun in any way
It's very common for the French border patrol to get the dogs out. It's an easy catch for them.

Re: bring things back by coach??
20 years ago I came back by coach, but when we got off coach for the ferry I took my stash and hid it in the ventilator a few seats in front of where I was sitting. At the other side after we had boarded the coach again some police came on and removed the guy sitting in the seat next to it. Oops....but when we got to London I quickly checked as I was getting off the coach and my stash was still there
. God knows what the other guy got grabbed for...
