Hi guys and gals, got another trip booked up for later this month but nothing really on my itinary as yet. Just thought I`d ask for some recommendations for a lone-traveller in the Dam for 4 days.
De Pijp and maybe Haarlem are places that I`m thinking of visiting - definitely De Pijp but if you`ve got any tips for places to visit or things to do let me know. Thanks.

In De Pijp I'd never miss the haring roll near Katsu. Obviously Club Media. De Graal. There are 19 coffeeshops in the de Pjip area. Next time I try Haarlem it is going to be with someone who knows the way around from shop to shop. Got awfully lost last time.

If you like art, check out the Frans Hals museum in Haarlem. They've got a very decent collection of 15th-18th century art and unlike the Van Gogh musuem, very few tourists. Oh, as for coffeeshops, I wish I could remember the name of the one I went to last year, it's a block north of the Grote Markt (about a 10 minute walk from the train station). I got a gram of cheese there which was pretty decent. Fortunately, I was with a Dutch person who knew the city well; otherwise, I'm certain I would have gotten lost, too.
Next trip: November 2013

Thanks for the replies guys.
I enjoyed ambling around the market when I was last over in August - will be sure to do that again this time.
Thanks for the tip about the gallery in haarlem too.
Any more ideas people?

Nice one, that sounds cool. I was maybe thinking of going a little further to Zandfoort - depending on what the weather is like. Then maybe calling in at Haarlem on the way back. We`ll see what happens though.
You been to haarlem before dude?
