I think its funny that there's two pages worth of responses and none of them mention prostitutes behind windows or escorts that visit hotel rooms. Definitely lets you know that this is a stoner crowd!

I have found that you never get “IT” for free. It has been as cheap as a "Hello" and few drinks, right up to, and including, costing me houses, cars, boats and LARGE pieces of my heart. “IT” is never free. So why not just pay up front? Atleast you KNOW you are going to get "IT"....Just my humble opinion of course..

In 2010 I found a bar that was hard to find...and hard to get back to my hotel from: I got wildly lost. But it only had cocktails on the menu and I sat among a pretty hip crowd, high as hell, drinking a sensational rum infused cocktail.

One of my favourite 'Dam moments. (Sorry if it's a bit "Toffy" for some :p)

It would be great if you could remember the name of the bar. And given that you were probably groggy from the cocktail, it is indeed an accomplishment that you made it back without any mishaps. Getting lost like that in Amsterdam is adventrous. Once back at the hotel, or back home from the vacation, I like to look at the city map and try to figure out more or less where I wandered during my journey. It once took me two hours to get from the Uptown Flying Pig Hostel to the Hotel Fita (the two are only about a 10 minute walk from each other).
