For me being really stoned in the middle of a major international city is enough of a thrill especially when I've been able to quaff my way into that state perfectly openly and legally at various coffeeshops.

Generally speaking I wander the Jordaan and Oud Zuid on foot and the rest by bike. Riding my bike around aimlessly and randomly all the time trying to 'learn' the city. Knowing that the next day I forget many things so not to worry too much about anything other than enjoying the scenery.

I love the way certain neighbourhoods 'look' and I like to try and 'discover' new places for myself outside the centrum.
Usually any research is coffeeshop based and any other attraction visited is purely incidental. That is usually by design. On the day I let fate decide what happens.

I go on long walks too.

I'm normally on my own and don't like sitting about idle when so stride forth and try to take it all in.

Chancing on coffeeshops during a long walk is a massive thrill: that colourful haven in an otherwise normal street.

Mrs Pipe and I walk until our legs are about to drop off, just wandering, exploring, our favourite thing to do and the Mrs doesn't even smoke.

Go on a munch hunt, walk round the city until u find something that you have never had before and looks really, really tasty. Or go for one of your fav foods (cheese burger with bacon) order the biggest portion of it u can and dig in MAN Vs. FOOD style.....hhhmmmmmmm cheese burrrrrgerrrrr!!!!

We enjoy going out of the known areas and exploring other lesser visited hoods. On a trip a couple years ago- we ended up in a rather dodgy neighborhood cs, the locals, were initially giving hostile vibes, by the time we left, we were being treated like old friends.
Just love this country!

Hard to add anything original to this interesting thread. I too like walking around the city, admiring its beautiful architecture and the hot Dutch women riding their bikes. Provided the weather is nice, i really enjoy both the Vondelpark and the huge field behind the Rijksmuseum, the one that goes all the way to the Stedelijk (i think the field is called the Museumplein). It seems that there are always a lot of activities going on there, yet still plenty of space to smoke and not be conspicuous.

Least enjoyable thing while stoned: riding a crowded tram or being in a coffeeshop playing very loud music.

I like to walk round the canals, stoned or not. But when really stoned I'm sat at a coffee shop table with Gapie, strange how that works out.....Oh and when really,really stoned I'm falling asleep at 1e Hulp.

I like to wander around randomly taking photographs.

Well, the problem is that if I told you what I do, then I would be breaking the golden rule....

I like to play games in the coffeshops while stoned, chess, cards, scrabble. It is especially nice as I rarely play any board games at home as everything usually is played on computer, iphone, or ps3, xbox.
I also like to explore especially the area on the way to Bij and Borjoegens. Lotsa neat little shops on the way including a nice little market that has a great vendor selling hot and cold sandwiches for less than 3e each, the warm pastrami was lekker!

The number of times I've nearly walked into lampost/other people when doing this....

All of the above and I also like getting lost. Getting on a train for Haarlem and getting off in Leylstad was fun as was getting on the train at Schiphol and getting off in The Hague (not stoned). Also, politely asking for my room key and finding out after much work by the receptionist that my hotel was some two kilometers away.

Do all the above but if all gets a bit much I go back to hotel/apartment for a game of Eurovision TV contest and make unscientific judgements on who has the best TV.

My observations are-
France, Britain and Sweden score very highly with the Danes shooting up the score board .
Germany could do much better but has great music programmes.
Netherlands and Belgium is shamefully bad.
As for Italy (apart from the odd RAI production) and Spain, lets just say most of those countries's talent work in the film industry.

when i get Hammered in Dam i like to get on a tram for awhile (any direction) and walk my way back to central. did this a fair few times by mistake on early trips, but you find coffeeshops youve never been too before along with getting lost, unfortunately this doesnt happen much any more unless i go way out of town. no matter what happens its always good as your in Dam
