April 19th ACD bike ride. Leaving from Voyagers at noon.

Post by treetop »

EDIT - Looking at the schedule for this day there is time for a bike ride between Voyagers and La Tert TnT's. I suggest anyone wishing to have a bike ride at this time bring their bikes and we can talk about it at the TnT. I'll be there from 11am. The destination is not really important. It is the journey that counts. :D

What we could do is have a ride to some point decided upon by all then a return to La Tert in time for those that wish to go on Smirks diceman adventure(like me :) ) at 2pm.

Lemming could you post this for noon on the 19th april please?

ps - if the weather is crappy then the bike ride is unlikely to happen.

Below is an outline for a more ambitious bike tour/ crawl up in picturesque Zaandam. With all the TnT's/crawls planned there is not time for this particular trip but without stepping on any toes let me declare I'm up for a bike ride/tour of just about any length and just about any time during 4/20 week.....
As long as the weather is nice.

Zaandam details follow.....

There are 3 coffeeshops in zaandam. Also a historic water tower and some windmills a short distance away. Depending on the weather I suggest we decide on the day whether to ride up there or take the train or even take the bikes on the train then ride around from there.

It is also possible we will just do this as a walking tour depending on what everyone wants to do.

Here is some further info. Check out the virtual tour at the Squad coffee shop website. Has a nice 'weed garden'

If we decide to bike the 10km up to Zaandam there is coffeeshops to explore on the way also like...

Map of coffeeshops in Zaandam. As you can see they are pretty close to each other. If it is a nice day Squad might be a nice final destination for a smoke in the weed garden. They also have an interesting menu you can peruse online.

Meet Voyagers 11am on 19th April.

Post by treetop »

I'd suggest meet up Voyagers around 11am and leave no later than noon. Here is another coffeeshop along the road.

There is also a tunnel to go through. I'm assuming bikes can ride through tunnels just like cars in Holland.

Bump your bike crawl, TT. 8)

I think I'm going to start a "Bike Rides in and around Amsterdam" thread,
limited to just rides that are in-town, and with-in a day's ride from town;
for everyone to post their suggestions to.

Do it! I'm heading through in July and I'd love to do this, but don't know where to go!

Adding to and not taking away from TT's excellent cycling adventure...
...I've been to most of the parks within the Amsterdam City Ring, however not all of them in one day.
A couple of years ago I gave it some thought, but I keep getting stoned/high and lose motivation, not to mention the weather (no excuses, ok maybe a little)...
The approximate distance traveled would be 35km/21mi, a distance easily covered in a day.
Unlike TT's ECA, my Tour de Amsterdam doesn't have a fixed date, it's whenever weather permits.
Let's go biking...

For me, time in Amsterdam is more of a meander or a mooch cos I'm usually major stoned, and that goes for bike riding or anything and when I see targets (35k) and objectives I'm afraid I deflate a bit on the idea.
But if I dont get the 420 bikeride on TT (although my daughter might), we will go for a nice lesiurly ride some other time perhaps in the summer :D.

What a long strange trip it is.

This is going to be awesome. A bunch of stoned cyclists being led around by me after I have consumed some solventless goodies.
