Third trip 11-17 March. Possibly solo

Hi everyone. As the subject indicates, I will be making my third trip to Amsterdam this March. It looks like I may be taking this one by myself as all my smoker friends cant spare the money or cant take vacation that time of year. I havent quite booked the trip yet because I am holding out for a few days to see if anyone wants to get in on the trip.

I typically stay in the nicer hotels, but I was thinking about more of a hostel type environment especially if I am by myself. Greenhouse effect looks like it would suit me just fine. I dont want the dorm/barracks type of hostel but I can deal with shared facilities as long as I have a secure location to relax, sleep and store my things. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Would love to meet up with some fellow board members if possible. I enjoy having someone to spend the time with and talk to, although not a requirement.

Cool. I look forward to seeing you there! I am most likely going to book my ticket tonight after I receive yay or nay from my friend on whether he can make it or not. Most likely going to book an en-suite room at greenhouse effect unless anyone else has any better suggestions. The location is great and I am really just looking for a clean, safe and smoker friendly place to stay. A 24hr or extended hours smoke friendly lounge place is also a definite plus. Does GHE have this? I have never ventured into the hotel/bar side. I could stay in the Doubltree at Central station virtually free if I use my Hilton honors points but i dont believe it would be very cool. Smoking most likely not allowed in any capacity.

This time of year I want to be pampered where I stay. Such a slow time of year there are great deals about for 4 and 5 star hotels. I'd take one of these. Apparently Bulldog has 24 hour smoking area for guests in the RLD. In your shoes I'd prolly do that as good place to meet up if you are solo.

I will b stayin at the ghe feb 1 thru feb 4th, im goin solo and will stayin in private apartment, either called bling bling or the salon. Looks like a good place to stay and staff seems friendly. Ill let u know how i make out

Thanks for the tip on the Bulldog. I checked them out and it looks pretty good. I got a discount for the 5 night stay and it equaled out to about the same as GHE plus there is a safe in the room. Never cared much for their products but the private rooms look good. So everything is booked, Ill be leaving the US on the 11th and arriving in country the morning of the 12th. My friend confirmed so everything looks like it is going to be perfect.

Well my friend had something with work come up so now I am going solo again. Sucks that he can only get a credit through the airline for his ticket and they rape you on rebooking fee.
