Well, it's less than 6 weeks now before I first arrive in Amsterdam, it will have been a grand weekend by this point in 6 weeks time!
After my arrival, I'll be staying in Almere Haven. I have planned a side trip to Switzerland during the 420 weekend so I will not be in Amsterdam during that period but rest assured that I will be celebrating in high style in Confoederatio Helvetica.
After my trip to Switzerland, I'll return to Netherlands on 22 April, arriving in Almere with my Swiss associate, where we will spend the night with friends. We move to Amsterdam on 23 April and I'll stay until I fly out on the morning of 28 April.
This year, our lodging in Amsterdam will be split between the Greenhouse Effect Hotel and Voyagers Hotel. This will be my first time in a room at Voyagers and I look forward to documenting the accommodations.

I've been making my list and checking it twice, the things I'll need to pack, the shops I want to visit, the strains I want to try... the next 2 weeks cannot pass by fast enough. With luck and skill, I will arrive in Amsterdam on the morning of 13 April, it's a Saturday, and I'll be meeting gapie at Voyagers at 11 that morning... again with luck and skill on my side.
It's well documented that I have made this trip many times in the past, but I still experience the thrill of anticipation and the satisfaction of arrival. I am looking forward to this year's journey as much as any in the past. The beauty, the freedom, the choices!

Yeah... I have only 12 days and then I will arrive in Amsterdam...
Leaving from CVG on Friday, 12 April and that has me arriving the next morning, Saturday, 13 April and then things will get interesting. I still intend to drop in at Utopia and we already have a T&T planned for 11am at Voyagers.
I would still like to hear from people with opinions on which shops to avoid... I already have my own list of shops which I avoid, short list that it is, but I would like to hear from others...
I am looking forward to meeting all the cool ACD people who will be in town during the same time I will be there. Let's Party!

I leave tomorrow. I arrive at Schiphol at 8:40am... Good Morning Amsterdam!
I will need to visit the Duty Free shop at the airport and then head on to Centraal Station. I'll need to make arrangements for my side trip to Switzerland via ICE and then, if everything runs smoothly, I should be able to arrive at Voyager's at 11:00am to meet with gapie and I will enjoy my first toke of the day!
I plan to make visits to a couple of other shops as well as my usual sight-seeing and video opportunity walk around the Centrum before heading out to Almere where I will be staying with friends until I leave for Switzerland.

Regarding the camcorder, I use a Sony Handycam HDR-TG1 but before I got this I was using a rather cheap camcorder which I purchased from Aldi and all the videos I have posted from 2009 were shot with that, the quality of the Sony is much, much better... but any camcorder is better than none at all.
