1e hulp - advice on getting there

Post by Slim d »

Hi
Thinking of a visit.
It's a fair way from the centre looking at the map, is it a nice walkable trip or best to catch a tram ?
To be honest, I can easily walk for half an hour no worries, so if that's all it takes.... Then a walk will do just fine.

Cheers

Somebody that lives there now can tell you better than I can, but I walked that route a couple of times last year. If I remember correctly, it's about a 15-20 minute walk from Dam Square. If you start from Dam Square, Tram 13 or 14 will get you there.
Next trip: November 2013

Just walk mate - only takes about 10 mins from dam square. Nice stroll...

Top shop to visit - well worth the walk, but don`t bother with the Temple Ball

Tram 17 Or 13 from Centraal Station get off at Rozengracht.

It's just a 10-15 minute walk from Dam Square. Just walk down Raadhuisstraat which turns into Rozengracht after a couple of blocks. It's on Marxinstraat right off the corner with Rozengracht.

The walk is well worth it at around 15/20 minutes but if you have to I am pretty sure Tram 17 takes you basically to it's door step.

Say HIGH to Rizla for me!

Tram 17 will take you there. If you are going from Centraal Station it is the 4th stop if I remember correctly.

albertcuyp market is about a 20 minute walk from Dam Square. It really isn't too far.

Been to Amsterdam 23 times and never once have I been on a tram , Amsterdam for me is all about the sights the sounds the ppl the everything and I doubt I'd get that sat on a tram or bus so I stay on my feet , usually got loads of blisters by end of first day but still have to walk , it's the ONLY way to get round Amsterdam , and also it's good to get lost now and again otherwise where's the fun :) .... Enjoy your trip mate and i would recommend the G13/amnesia in 1e hulp if they still got it in stock :)
