Coffeeshops are only in the Netherlands. The wietpas was introduced in the South and is still in place even though there is no nationwide ban. Your best bet would be to head for Rotterdam but that could upwards of 4 hours one way depending on where you are in France. You can see which shops are open for everyone here. http://keinwietpas.de/wo-gilt-der-wietpas-wo-nicht/

No way ? i didnt realise that was the case... im travelling from st malo so the journey will be quite far but have done the drive many times up to dam... im from jersey so its a bit of a treck but well worth it in the end. wanted to do a bit of research first before stopping somewhere where tourists cannot buy.
so are most of the provinces in netherlands closed to tourists other than rotterdam? just gotta do some research i guess. there must be a few coffee shops closer than rotterdam? i am going to phone them before i go just to check.

Your closest with a bit of choice will be Nijmegan. 511 miles from St Malo.

Did you look at the map I linked? It shows which towns are open to everyone. Find the closest and then look for more info in the directory above.
