Crazy idea but couldn't you secure 2 smaller boats, 1 for each day, 2 groups of people willing to commit to each day, if you aint at a certain coffeeshop with your cash at a certain time on day the seat gets sold to the next stoner who fancies a trip to harlem. I'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to find someone willing to stump up.
I'm planning on hitting as many t & ts as can fit in but I'd definately be up for a boat trip 19th when I arrive in the a.m. but flying home 21st so could do with staying central that day and wont be there 22nd.

With time starting to ebb away, I think you should inform your agent of the date ASAP.
As noone really seems to care much either way, you should pick which ever date you want...Friday or Monday....and post it.
In my opinion the boat ride would fit better into the schedule on Friday the 19th. as I am attempting to get the cups doled out Monday afternoon.

Colina wrote:As it's less than 60 days till 4-20 I start this new thread to get as many people as possible together for the boat trip. Our local agent is going to support us with checking out the company.
If we have to reserve etc..
First we should fix the date.
Second we have to count the heads that wan't to take part.
Third do the reservation.
Finally have a lot of fun.
4-19 don't know, my arrival day, have other plans.
4-20 is not possible too much to do that day already.
4-21 would be my fav, Haarlem flower parade can be missed imo
4-22 would be an option too for me
What do you think?
I’m in for a boat ride
4-19 The same for me my arrival day, have other plans.
4-20 I agree, I believe today, we all will be too buzzy with the 4/20 celebration we are giving to our self.
4/21 very possible. I was thinking about going to Haarlem
4-22 Also very possible until 15:00.
Just let me know a day and place to meet.

Last year we spent ages discussing this and it never happened. If I cancel my T & T in favour of the boat trip and then the boat trip doesn't happen...I don't mind sacrificing it for the good of the group, but does the group really want a Friday boat trip? Poll is small but it suggests no. Why are we waiting until Monday to distribute cups? Why not do this on Sunday, leaving Monday free for boating?

I agree, But I am just along for the ride.
I am on vacation my schedule is wide open.
So what ever the group decides. We can run the chance of no boat ride by waiting to last minute for the boat.
I am just playing lost sheep and following the stoner herd.

I agree with Smirks, we should avoid cancelling events already on the provisional itinerary if possible.
Friday we have Smirks T&T.
It's also the only available opportunity for a Pijp crawl before 4-20.
The morning of Friday is still free I suppose.
Saturday is a possibility.
We did a boat trip as an excursion from the Nes on the 20th in 2009.
We started in daylight and finished in the dark.
The canals are pretty with all of the bridges lit up and cruising through the Red Light District at night was colourful.
This doesn't seem a very popular idea, though, and isn't even an option on the poll here.
The schedule for Sunday is also quite busy.
The proposed Haarlem trip will take up a chunk of the day and, again, if we try to cancel that, some people will be upset.
If we did cancel it, though, then the first candidate to replace it would be cup presentations, as some favour.
That leaves Monday.
If Monday is to be cup presentation day (if we don't cancel Haarlem on Sunday) then we'll need most of the day for that but there's probably room for a boat trip too.
We could do 2pm 3rd place shop, 4pm 2nd place shop, 6pm boat, 8pm 1st place shop.
If we want to do the boat earlier then we could shuffle those around.
If we need longer for the boat trip then we could do 1pm, 3pm, 5pm boat, 9pm, giving 4 hours for the boat and still 2 hours for each cup shop.
I also agree with Trad, it would be good to settle this soon.

I also think Monday will be the date. Friday did not get many votes. But please let's do it not too late, my flight departs at 20:55 so I should leave town at 19:30 to keep calm. You know last year I managed to catch my flight in the very last minute. Never again!
What about Monday 22nd 2pm till 4 or 5pm. Not too early and not too late to be wasted already

. That would leave enough time after the boat tour to have a final smoke for me and dinner for the rest of the crew

before your party goes on

The cups could be presented after the boat ride, I would join the 3rd place and leave in time, you could do the 2nd and 1st place the same night too.

I'm up for anything although, it seems the train to Haarlem might be more time efficient with such a heavy schedule Over the bizzy weekend. Boat ride sounds slow, fun, easy going, lad back, but time consuming. Just a thought y'all

peace

I think Ger is still working on checking out the boat company. But we have to give a date and number of passengers. The big boat could be too big, but it would be the best. I don't know how many we will be. If we order a smaller one (without toilet) but the same style, no roof, that would be the best solution I think.
Do you have a plan? I don't really know how many people we will be.
The date on monday is ok, isn't it?
Please give some feedback or should we do it in Kim Jong style?

I think that Lemming has got a good schedule worked out.
Monday for the boat trip sounds like a solid plan.
As to the numbers, I would think that the large boat is the best one to book. Remember how many turned up in 2011? Same last year too as the boat trip is a popular event....I know I'm looking foreward to it.
Just my opinion...blah, blah...disclaimer...
See you soon.
