Hello from LA
So I don't recall how long I have been registered on ACD, but I found my way here via the channels after my first trip to the DAM in 2009. I've been lurking ever since. Mainly reading trip reports, but recently my interest was peaked by the; "what are you smoking now" thread (Diamond OG at the moment). So look for my post there and maybe I will reach into the vault and finally write my trip report.

Welcome to the forum.
2009. You never dealt with the guilder.
I'm sure if you browse the Menus, you will find some from 2009.
Fairly recent report. We like them all.
Enjoy

Thanks Matty.
@FBN: Nope I've never dealt with the guilder. Just the euro and at a terrible exchange rate at that.

In 2001 ( when the euro came in ) it was 1 to 1. That didn't last long.

I wish... it was more like 1.32 to 1 in favor of the Euro. Which was much better than the GBP..that was just rape. Something like 1.62-1.80 to 1 depending on the place. Like middle of fuck nowhere Ryan Air's London airport hub, Pancreas, I believe it's called...still a little bitter about that one.FlyByNite wrote:In 2001 ( when the euro came in ) it was 1 to 1. I did learn that if you can find a way to use an ATM with no fees or a way in general without a chip card. In my case by using my CC to take a cash advance, then you will get the best exchange rate straight from your own bank.

Ryan Air's London hub is Stansted (it's about 30 miles north of central London). St Pancras is actually a major railway terminal for national and international travel, located in London. And the pancreas is an organ that produces insulin and other important hormones.
Next trip: November 2013

Stansted! Thank you Mafufero. Yes those 30mi take ages by bus.
Yes, St. Pancras and not pancreas. I departed from there on the way to Brussels via London. That's where that came from.
