I'm usually staying in a B&B type place so I eat there. squirelling away some fruit for a snack later. Then I tend to go to Abraxas in the morning & have coffee, and use their internet to check e-mail. Or do it late afternoon/early evening. Or both, Abraxas is nice.
Do something planned for that day – museum, stroll to something like the begijnhof, or go to the Waterloopein flea market. Shop in stores if I need something. Maybe jump into Dampkring if it’s not crowded, or Rookerij near the Singel.
I usually go in the off season, so there’s a chill in the air – lunch at Tara’s on the Rokin in front of one of the fires (also an evening place), that is, if there ain’t no football on & its not packed w/ drunken fans;
or go out of the center to someplace like Café Ter Brugge
or go to a brown cafe type place in the Jordaan or East;
or someplace like Cafe Prins.
If checking out a favorite afternoon haunt, go to de Kuil or Greenhouse Centrum or Sensei Coffeeshop (this may soon include Old Church, Noon, Amnesia, Tweede Kramer after this trip).
Or, plan on going to Grey Area; and Chocalata for some nice cake; & those spots over in that area.
Or worm my way to a good brewpub like Brouwerij 't IJ.
Or, Vondelpark, no matter what time of year
Or, spend a couple of hours or three in a good sauna, get a massage.
Or jus sittin’ & a readin’ or playing cards at one of the places above.
Evening, hit Greenhouse Centrum or de Kuil or Rookerij at Leidesplein; if got a date, make it Rookerij at Muntplein or Absinthe Cafe.
After dinner in Chinatown, go to clubs at Rembrandtplein or vegas nite or whatever; start chewing on some shrooms & smokin'.
Late nite, end up at Waterhole or Korsakoff &/or MaloMalo or Paridiso or Melkweg or a good rave.
Then die happy after this 72 hour day is over
