Uncle Ron wrote:I read the page in question ref Voyagers, and I fail to see the "real forum" negativity.
What I read were a few typical comments regarding the fleecing of stoners, ie... pricing.
For the record, the fleecing is done by all establishments that sell cannabis in any form.
So, not really negative, but if ya want some negativity, step right up...............................
The fleecing of stoners, want proof? Do the simple short-form/short bus math... How much does it cost to grow a gram of weed? In the Euro economy, I've gotten it down to 0.42 per gram (still too high), and in certain parts of the US, I could grow for less than half that amount. A question to ponder, why the ridiculous markup?
As a grower, I know the upfront cost to grow, and if I were operating a retail business, I would DEFO know that as well, not to mention knowing how much it will cost me to run my business. Chant with me to the rhythmic drum circle(jerk) beat = we are being fleeced hey - we are being fleeced yo - we are being fleeced while fucked like a $2 hoe.
The first thing that comes to mind is GREED, followed closely by stupidity. Growers, distributors, and shop owners are greedy, period. Want proof - look at the prices.
Stoners are stupid for having a puff-puff-pass attitude for paying these prices. Some would ask - so what do we do instead? My reply would be - if ya gotta ask, you won't be able to handle the answer.
Next...
Some may not care what they pay because they are on holiday, good on them.
Typical attitude of shit and run... meaning taking a dump in someone else's country and then run home. Doesn't matter that the "fuck if I care" attitude really fucks over the locals, not their problem right? But wait, if said country wants to change laws (in their eyes) to better their way of life, watch all the monkeys drop from the trees screaming and throwing their shit at everybody, crying how unfair the Dutchies are towards the rest of Europe.
Reality sucks, and the truth does hurt at times, especially when self inflicted. This leads me to...
...are you part of a solution or part of the problem?
...

i dont grow weed, i aint got time to grow weed, the mrs would kill me if i grew weed and am i right in saying in the uk (and many other parts of the world) its illegal to grow weed?
If a country is happy to allow shops to sell weed, where it can be smoked and sells it at the prices that it does and is only an hour away by plane from the uk. Then i am pretty sure im happy to pay the going rate, cos you can pick a gram of something up from 6/7 euro (i mean if u wanted cheap stuff)? Sure if the prices were say double what they currently are then i would cut down on going.
plus i alone am spending a £1000 a year on flights, hotels, weed, munchies and attractions. And im only there for max combined stay of 10 days a year.
I dont even know what im really getting at or moaning about. But i dont think tourists are to blame for the way dam is run, and if the locals dont like it then they have a gov dont they? And if prices are too much for locals then i apologise that is just tough cos im sure they could get their weed via other sources. And there wages that they earn in dam is somehow influenced by tourism.

During my military service I devised an entirely new way to hate people. Skin color, relegion, and sexual orientation are all so arkaic forms of hate! This is the 21st century people come on! This new form of hate I've dubbed "region-ism" and basiclly you hate based off where people are from, because as we all know its nature vs. nurture, so your surroundings have much to do with shaping ideas and views about the world. I won't go into all the details surround how or why I devised this, bu I'm sure there are others out there who hate based on region. For me, Boston, Massachusets USA is full of well... People I hate.

I'd be promoting Grasshopper to them. That's my recommendation for blunt smokers and those who absolutely have to know what the best strain in Amsterdam is

I joined here before my trip to Amsterdam and was thrilled to find what I thought was a like minded community of weed loving stoners. This forum was an invaluable asset to my dream birthday/vacation trip. I knew where to go for the best of everything. I printed the map and put it in a clear sleeve and used it the entire trip, not only to navigate around but also as a placemat to roll weed on. Met a nice friend in the Dam that still stays in touch and I appreciate her stories/photos/contributions here. Spent many chilly/rainy afternoons reading cool trip reports and sharing music from folks around the world on here. There are some really nice and helpful folks here to chat to and exchange ideas with. It's like no other forum I've been on and for the most part enjoy it here a great deal.
Having said that, I also agree that the negativity and straight up TROLLING by the same group of folks pretty much each and every thread has grown OLD as hell the past year. If you have nothing to contribute to a thread but hateful commentary or do nothing but make people feel STUPID for asking questions here - do us all a favor and post that immature stupidity elsewhere. The sarcastic smart ass BS that you can count on the very same ones OVER AND OVER AND OVER to arrive at every thread to post worthless/shitty commentary that a few in the clique seem to think is super amusing.
I've watched several long timers drift away and randomly if ever post here now because of this situation. I rarely came around here for many months because the fighting, baiting and trolling is a disgrace to what is otherwise a special and unique forum.
If you have nothing positive to add, if you just troll thread to thread looking for a fight, take it elsewhere.
This should be a welcoming place for people not a negative cesspool of shit starters.

Good to see that the thread is going strong.
Knew it would work, and I'm glad others notice the "negativity" in the forum.
On another note; Long ass day at work - time for a J and smoke the negativity away?
