Negativity Thread #1

I joined here before my trip to Amsterdam and was thrilled to find what I thought was a like minded community of weed loving stoners. This forum was an invaluable asset to my dream birthday/vacation trip. I knew where to go for the best of everything. I printed the map and put it in a clear sleeve and used it the entire trip, not only to navigate around but also as a placemat to roll weed on. Met a nice friend in the Dam that still stays in touch and I appreciate her stories/photos/contributions here. Spent many chilly/rainy afternoons reading cool trip reports and sharing music from folks around the world on here. There are some really nice and helpful folks here to chat to and exchange ideas with. It's like no other forum I've been on and for the most part enjoy it here a great deal.

Having said that, I also agree that the negativity and straight up TROLLING by the same group of folks pretty much each and every thread has grown OLD as hell the past year. If you have nothing to contribute to a thread but hateful commentary or do nothing but make people feel STUPID for asking questions here - do us all a favor and post that immature stupidity elsewhere. The sarcastic smart ass BS that you can count on the very same ones OVER AND OVER AND OVER to arrive at every thread to post worthless/shitty commentary that a few in the clique seem to think is super amusing.

I've watched several long timers drift away and randomly if ever post here now because of this situation. I rarely came around here for many months because the fighting, baiting and trolling is a disgrace to what is otherwise a special and unique forum.

If you have nothing positive to add, if you just troll thread to thread looking for a fight, take it elsewhere.

This should be a welcoming place for people not a negative cesspool of shit starters.

In reply to some who think trolling on ACD is at an all-time-high, maybe it has to do with the economy? Nah..... I think some became bored with trolling other sites, and while out trolling, they found our little gem. There are a few notable crossovers who shall remain nameless, as well as the sites they came from, who brought their fooked up attitudes with them. I'm not saying this to bait anyone, but there is some reality to my observations...
Some other shit that's been going on for some time that seems to annoy is the sheer display of laziness because some can't be bothered using the search function. A prime example is the Weed Pass. How many threads? One perspective is just to ignore all of it, because eventually it will all go away. Have any of the OP's updated their threads? Oh wait, now I've crossed over to another topic, Forum Etiquette. Some here seriously need to read all they can, but then again, I'm talking about the puff-puff-pass crowd, so never mind.

Also, count the # of threads relating to any one particular subject. For example - there are 8 threads about wanking, 4 about she-wee's, and 1 about the current state of affairs as they pertain to all things fooked. My favorite - the Weed Pass. Maybe some feel inadequate and think they have to start their own thread, just to be cool. Anything but , more like a despertard.
I used to be annoyed by all of this and more, but thankfully came to accept the reality that "you can take a stoner out of the hood, but that's about it."

It doesn't matter though. just because a lot of people like me have been here for a while and had probably all, if not more than we thought possible of weed related discourse we should treat new comers with anything other than consideration on encountering them. They dont know, thats why they ask, and most of us dont mind politely pointing people in the right direction, or having the conversation again. The ACD isn't the centre of many of our lives, so it doesn't really matter to most.
Real trolls (have we had any?) and stupid people soon bugger off, they dont get the hardcore response they need . and while they're here I find them fascinating characters who I wouldn't otherwise encounter.

Uncle Ron did you know? (of course you already do, I just jousting ) If you do search weed pass, the first time it shows up is your comment you just made and the next search result that is actually about the "weed pass" is 17 more search results away. But if you search weedpass you receive many more results about the actual weedpass.( it will most likely be different after I post this!)

Maybe you should start a thread on appropriate use of search function, also the reason for it and get Flybynite to include it in his wonderful first post that he contributes to newcomers to help them survive in Amsterdam. Maybe you could help all survive the forum?
