If your gate number is in the high Ds (think it's D15 and over) there's an Irish pub on the way to the gate (before you have to go through security) which has a smoking room. I've seen a few people blaze up in there over the years but I wouldn't have the balls to do that myself nowadays. Oh the lost joys of youth...
Personally I wouldnt recommend getting too battered at the airport anyway. I did that in December and left my phone in the x-ray tray - I was so duffed up I didn't even notice I'd lost it til I landed back in London and went to switch it 'back on'
