cool thing dude, I'll be landing on the 31st at 12am ish, how long you there on the 31st of march?

you wanna do a toke -n - talk at voyagers?
Aw, man, I'd love to, problem is I'll only be in Amsterdam on Saturday. I'll be there to hang out a little, and especially to equip myself with weed, and in the evening I'll take a train to Apeldoorn to visit and chill with a friend. Can't you reschedule your flight?

By the way, I probably would have uploaded my pics sometime after the weekend, but if you want me to I can do that on Saturday evening instead, if that helps your decision-making process :) ...

oh I see the problem, unfortunately I cant change my flight...

uploading the pics on saturday evening would be awesome, so I can plan a little if you find something interesting

have fun in the streets of mokum!

Haha, yeah, I would have been surprised if this were possible ;)...

Absolutely no problem, I'll just have to think of taking my digicam's USB cable along, but that should be manageable. I'll certainly let you, and the others here in the thread, know whether my quest for a nice sativa will have been successful...
have fun in the streets of mokum!
Likewise! :D

Hey there,

I was just quickly gonna drop by and say that I was in Amsterdam today, I took all the photos, but I'll upload them tomorrow morning. I'll try to do it by 12AM (CET) so that dodoking420 can consult this thread when he arrives ;)... I got Champagne Haze from Utopia, Neville's Haze from De Kuil/420 Café and Old School Haze from Amnesia. Two of those three are great, the other one was a huge disappointment. But more about that tomorrow :)...

Ok, here I go.

I'll start with the two good ones. First, Champagne Haze from Utopia.

Then, Old School Haze from Amnesia.

Now, the disappointing one: Neville's Haze from 420 Café.

The Neville's Haze really sucks on every level. Smell, look, high. Seriously, this weed isn't worthy of being sold in a coffeeshop, and much less in one that seems to have a pretty good reputation. It was my first time at 420 Café, and I actually found the shop itself pretty cool, nice interior and everything, but the weed I bought was definitely a bummer. I planned on buying up to five grams, I then opted for one gram when I saw it, and I totally regret that I bought it at all. I have no interest to bash the 420 Café here, but this weed is simply crap. Maybe someone else can go and confirm my impression?

I'll write a little more about the other two when I'm home (see post #26 below).

I have bought the Neville's in ht epast and did not think much of it, taste nor high were great. I use to love the super silver haze they sold before they started stocking the 420 haze a few years back..... part of me thinks the 420 haze is just SSH but renaimed....... it does of a much lighter green color than most of the SSH i have seen though.

No problem, glad to do it. :) And good to hear that you got some yourself, and that you're pleased with it as well.

As I said yesterday, I was gonna quickly review the two good strains I got, i.e. Amnesia's Old School Haze and Utopia's Champagne Haze. I have to say though that I haven't smoked any of the Old School Haze yet, and I tried the Champagne Haze only after a bowl of weed that my friend urged me to try (quite rightly, as it turned out  ). So, I cannot really write a full review for those two, but I was gonna share my thoughts nonetheless.

When I was at Utopia, I asked to be shown both the Amnesia Haze and the Champagne Haze. The Amnesia haze looked and smelled not bad, but I found the Champagne Haze clearly superior. It has an interesting and somewhat atypical smell, not easy to describe. When I crumbled a little bud, it did smell surprisingly fruity. It's sticky indeed, though a little less so than the Super Lemon Haze I had from Hunter's a few months back. As I said, I can't really describe the high because I had smoked a different strain before, but it was clearly very enjoyable! :D All in all, definitely great weed!

As for the Old School Haze: at Amnesia I asked to see it, along with their Real Amnesia Haze, and the Old School looked and smelled definitely better. Lots of orange-brown hairs, and an intense, "warm" smell, with a hint of citrus too. The buds are clearly smaller and fluffier than those of the Champagne Haze. It looks kind of like a cross that met halfway between a Haze and Grinspoon. I haven't tried it yet, but I have to say that, to me, it looks and smells even better than the Champagne Haze. So, dodoking, if you're still looking for something nice, I'd definitely recommend it! I'll add a smoke report as soon as I actually smoked it.

By the way, you guys can post pics in here as well if you like. I originally thought this was only gonna be a "one-off" thread for me to prepare my shopping list for the past weekend, but if there's sufficient interest in pics and comments on sativas, and ideally also some contributions with pics and/or smoke reports from others, we could keep the thread going, at least for a while. We'll see how it turns out I guess...

For now I hope that the weather in Amsterdam today is as pleasant as it is here in my place! Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Sorry to hear this CDee. Old batch?

A Dampkring menu submitted March 3rd, 2013 (by Lowriderx) lists Neville's Haze available for 12 euro...
http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/Dampkrin ... kring.html
...and Kali Mist for 11 euro.

Here's some quotes from a review of three different phenos of Neville's (from https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=118602 ), just to give you an idea of the various effects can be had with this original haze and NL5 hybrid...

pheno a- "The FX are fast and clear. There is almost a instant mental / visual clarity. I am starting to feel fired up and motivated. A nice gental euphoric ride upwards but not too racy or intense. The euphoric / dreamy edgr is quite pronounced by half way through the spliff. Eyes are starting to heavy up. Perhaps a very slight racy edge creeping in. And ever so slightly confusing. "

pheno b- "The FX, this is a bit of a funny one. She is a bit wasted when smoked inside. She is powerful but subtle and very environment driven. Inside perhaps I feel a slight head pressure release. Clarity to vision and more social. Music sounds great with this smoke.
This pheno needs to be enjoyed in nature, the big outdoors.
I took my dog out to the forrests and sparked up a big fat pure #8 and the forrest came alive. The clarity is almost overwhelming and trippy. Visual and aural trippyness / enhancement. After a while you start to feel very wasted and high, motivated and energized. Very much like a mild mushroom dose as there is an underlying relaxation. A good 2+ hour longevity.
Overall, this is my least favorite of the three. Yes it has great trippy sativa high, but smoked inside I find her very mild. And the taste isn't that of what I look for. Very good summer weed for smoking in the sun at a party or bbq. Good fro walking or sailing. Probably good for creativity and art. "

pheno c- "THe FX , well as I toke trying to get the flavors worked out, I find myself slumping into my armchair. This bud is HEAVY. Again a very clear head and very fast onset. More relazing than the others, less energetic and more stoney. This I really like. Certainly not what I look for in Neville's, but man this is some good herbs. I really hope this revegs well - if kept?
It has that beautiful up dreamy head euphoric buzz but with a deep body relaxation, sedation. Almost opiate like. Needless to say this sample got smoked the fastest and was the winner amongst my friends.
Overall this for me was the absolute winner. If I had to keep one, I would have this. It is not as trippy as my L33t cut, but it sure looks to yield more and alot less fussy. But the high is on the other end of the spectrum. Almsot ssh like is ways." -sounds like this one leans in the NL5 direction

Ah, I see. But once you post your trip report, you can link to it in here, or if you like, you can also place your pics of sativas both in your travelogue and in this thread. Do whatever you prefer  ...

Hmm, I can't say for sure how old the batch was, but what I am completely certain of is that at no point in time this batch was actually good. If you ask me, I would guess that it was some type of medium-quality outdoor weed. As I said, really disappointing. But I know that this is not generally the case of Neville's Haze. I've had it from other shops before, and it was pretty good, it's just this particular one that wasn't.

One more thing I would add regarding the Champagne Haze: I have now put it in a glass jar and open it from time to time so that any residual humidity gets out, and I noticed that sometimes, the smell of it does actually remind me a little bit of the smell of prosecco. I'm not sure whether this is where the strain got its name from, but it would be quite unlikely that this is just by accident. Dodoking, did you notice that as well with your batch? It's not that it really smells like prosecco, just like, say, a Super Lemon Haze doesn't really smell like lemon, but like weed with a hint of lemon, or prosecco in this case. I've never had this type of smell before. In any case it's great weed!
