toker31 it was a long time ago now but I think it paid somewhere in the range of 12-15 euros.

It was a bit hot on the throat. Definitely have to let some cool air in via the front to keep it from being too hot. No screen was included but I was able to fit one down in the bowl with a little trimming.

That OG 18 is the one i judge all the others against.

Think we got to the point where you were about to take a draw on a joint and another would be handed to you. I think we had every top end piece of weed in Mokum being consumed en mass for research purposes and it was a great sight of stoner carnage

Finally it was a god damn pleasure to meet yourself and everyone else that night

Stoner Segway tours and Pedestrian Ping Ping are now both trademarked

Leaving Dam is one of the hardest things to do. I never go to forums right after coming home, cause I know that my next trip is far away, living so far away from Mecca of Weed. Ok so do you, but you're lucky to have a job that constantly takes ya there. :P
It's painful enough (but also much fun!) to read these travelogues. 8)

It didn't grab me first that there's a ACD community in the first place. I have visited Voyagers and talked with Highly Blessed, but it was so crowded that I felt more comfortable to hop out in the sun.

Keep it up.

Thanks for all the encouragement peeps! now that ACD is back online, here's the next installment....

DAY 3 – Tuesday

The morning started rainy but by mid-afternoon the sun was out so I decided to leave work a bit earlier to enjoy it while it lasted. I forgot to mention in my report from yesterday that I managed to break my RooR steamroller.  It’s a beautiful piece of glass but I learned you must be careful when tapping out the bowl. Given that it was only Tuesday and I was to be here for four more days I had to have another one. So I decided to try out the RooR shop, which was is tucked away on tiny Sint Nicolaasstraat (just across Nieuwe Zidjs. from Utopia). Very cool shop and besides an amazing selection of bongs they had several versions of the steamroller available. I went for a slightly larger one than the original I had bought at Baba. It was cooler on the throat and ended up costing less so if you want one of these I highly recommend a visit to the RooR shop to purchase (or just to browse  )

After that I walked on to Dam Square and from there caught the tram down to De Pijp. This is one of my favorite places to on a sunny afternoon in Amsterdam. With the Albert Cuypmarkt going on there is so much activity, people and things to look at and it’s just a great area. I had skipped lunch at work so I could leave early so first order of business was food. I meandered my way down to Wild Moa pies. This is a sweet little shop with a counter and one large family style table if you want to eat right there. I opted for the bacon and egg pie and sat down at the big communal table while the very nice woman who runs the place prepared it. Soon the beautiful pie was placed before me on a simple dish and it was smelling yummy. First bite – Lekker!! The pie was devoured in record time along with an amazingly delicious Apple/Blackberry juice. I liked Wild Moa, great peaceful vibe, nice staff and amazing food – highly recommend this place if you are looking for quick but quality food on the go.

Stomach filled and happy, it was time to address other burning needs  So it was a short walk back up past Saphartipark and then a left on Gerard Doustraat to reach my next destination, Club Media. The very nice dark haired woman was working and after reviewing the sativas on offer I went for 1 gram of the Champagne Haze at 12.50 euros. After she buzzed me into the shop I also got a very nice hand made cappuccino for 2 euros. I borrowed a grinder, found a comfy spot facing out the windows (such as they are at Media) and rolled up in the champagne haze into a 1 gram pure cone and fired it up. The flavor was good - not as spectacular as what I’d had in July, but still just as smooth with very EXPANSIVE smoke. The sativa buzz starts to kick in after 3 tokes but takes a while to fully creep up on you  The high seemed to go particularly well with music playing in the shop. I could feel my head bobbing as I was grooving on the tunes and the peaceful vibe of this weed which wasn’t too high but still perfect for an afternoon in De Pijp. My notes give it an 8/10. After enjoying the vibe for a while it was time to move on, but on my way out I bought 1 gram of the Super Silver Haze on the way out, I always have a soft spot for this weed (it was the first strain I ever had in Amsterdam) and I always like to try one or two examples when I’m in town.

Image

There had been a TNT scheduled at Voyagers earlier that afternoon, so I decided to tram back to Centraal Station and see if it was still going on. I made the short walk over to Voyagers, made my way into the shop and sure enough it was still happening. Gapie, StillSmokin’ and Treetop where there, seeming almost as if they hadn’t moved since last night  HighlyBlessed in his usual spot behind the counter. Also met Smeetiva and lots of other non ACD friends who were gathered around the bigger tables. Introductions taken care of it was time to get busy smoking. First off was Kandy Kush in the Roor steamroller mixed with joints of the old favorite from the previous night, Mr. OG 18. (you must respect OG18). That was followed up by a pure joint of the SSH from Club Media, good old Gapie was kind enough to roll it up for me in beautiful Dutch fashion. The SSH ended up being a great example of the strain, with a super UP high. My notes rate it a 9/10. The crew was determined to keep the ridiculous consumption of weed on schedule, so the SSH was quickly followed by two joints of Amnesia as well as bowls of Amnesia in the steamroller

Damage done to everyone's stashes, it was time for me to get moving again before I fell into a coma. :P We agreed on a time for another TNT the next night and I waved to all as I headed out the door. I took a leisurely walk back to the hotel followed by a few hours catching up on work in the hotel business lounge. Work obligations taken care of it was time to refuel so over to Wok To Walk for some yummy noodles: whole wheat with chicken/veggies/cashews/saigon sauce/crispy onions. Yum yummity yum. After dinner I took an extended walk through the canals as the sun was setting, taking lots of pictures and enjoying bowls of Silver Bubble, Neville’s Haze and Grey Crystals from the Roor Steamroller.

I eventually made my way back to my hotel where the full afternoon/evening of smoking caught up with me and I crashed on the bed for about an hour. Woke up and had a nightcap of Mr. OG18 from the hotel fire escape and that put me down for the night!

Until the next installment…keep dreaming of your next visit to Mokum…

DAY 4- Wednesday

Image

Image

Woke up Wednesday to cloudy and wet, but you get used to that in Amsterdam and just dress appropriately. After work on Wednesday, instead of taking my usual route back to Centraal on the metro, I hopped off at Nieuwemarkt as I hadn’t been over in that part of town yet on this visit. My first planned destination was some dinner at the Pie Minister, based on some recommendations from some fellow ACD members here. Before heading in that direction, I took my time enjoying the familiar beauty of the Nieuwemarkt. It is a wonderful open square with large trees lining the outside and the wonderful 15th century building De Waag just sitting there in the middle. It’s wonderful to walk around this square and think how it must have been like hundreds of years ago.

Image

Fortuneately, I live now, and there is Pie Minister to consume! So existing the markt at the bottom on Kloveniersburgwal, I walk past Green Place and then Coffeeshop Goa until reaching Oude Hoogstraat and making a right. The Pie Minister is only a 100 m or so down on the right. The place was small but I was able to find a table and waited for my order to get delivered. My notes say I went for something called the Matador Mothership, and it what I remember was a meat & veggie pie on a bed of mashed potatoes. yum yum. If you are stumbling out of Greenplace or Goa and have the munchies, this is a place you should go.

Food needs sorted I was ready to get some smoke on so I dropped my work gear at the hotel, and hot footed it over to Grey Area before they closed at 8pm. I have to say I wasn’t entirely surprised to find Gapie and Treetop there already smoking, as they are purveyors of fine weed indeed. The shop was almost empty, so I didn’t have to wait and I gave Stefan a fist bump as he handed me a menu. This time around it was another gram of the Silver Bubble and 1 gram Kaligria. Also I went for another gram of the Grey Crystals after I confirmed that it was the same darker/stickier batch he had earlier in the week. I was able to snag one of the rare window seats and the three of us enjoyed a rare moment of peace in this shop. We passed the last hour before closing time smoking all kinds of weed through one of the house bongs. My notes don’t show it but knowing the three of us I’m sure we were also doing volcano bags at the same time.

After leaving Grey Area it was time to head over to t’Nes for the TNT that I had setup for 8pm. But arriving we found the place was totally rammed so we had to make a new plan. Wanting to get some Verdamper action in I suggested Anyday. New location transmitted via text and ACD forum, Gapie expertly led us across the centrum via the quickest route and in a few minutes we were at the familiar corner entrance to the shop. I enter and review the menu. I was already pretty flush with weed so I opted for 1 gram of their Silver Haze for 12 euros and the always lovely Strawberry Looza for 2 euros. Up the winding stairs to the smoking lair we snagged a table and got to work packing up the Verdamper with all kinds of weed and hash supplied by those in attendance: Bleak, StillSmokin’, Gapie, Treetop and myself.

Anyway, on here is what my little notebook shows we smoked at the TNT that night

Bowl 1: Silver Haze (anyday)
Bowl 2: Pineapple Haze
Joint #1: Blue Cheese rolled by Treetop
Bowl 3: LSD and Grey Crystals sprinkled on top
Joint#2: same mix of LSD and Grey Crystals, passed around the same time as bowl #3.

Now at this point I figured we were just getting started but I'm hearing worrying things from pro smokers like this:

Gapie – “I’m So Stoned”
Treetop: “I’m totally wrecked. I’m too hot – too high”

what what what? Come on guys! Don't flame out at my TNT. Somehow we must have pressed on because my notes have many more items on the smoke list.

Bowl#4: Lemon OG Kush + Caramello Hash. AMAZING flavor.

At this point my notes show Gapie almost breaks the slide on the Verdamper but recovers, and it’s on to

Bowl#5: Cheese from Anyday provided by Bleak.
Bowl#6: unidentified, non coffee shop weed…”High Grade Shit of Indeterminate Origin” courtesy Bleak
Joint #3: A spliff mix of Bubba Kush+Himilaya+Gold1 (all Anyday) provided by StillSmokin’
Bowl #7: Cheese

After that prodigious list, you might imagine that you would be so stoned that you could no longer function. You would be right. Done in, we called it a night and I stumbled the (thankfully) very short walk from Anyday to my hotel and crashed.

Thanks for coming out guys it was a blast! I don’t have a lot of pictures from this day (gee wonder why?  ), so here are a random few from this trip.

DAY 5: Thursday

Image

Started my morning off right with bowls of Kaligria on the walk to the train. Thursday was a long workday so I didn’t leave work until after 7:30 pm. Luckily the sun was still up at this time of year so I took a leisurely walk back to the Biljmer Arena train station, enjoying a few tokes of Silver Haze + Silver Bubble Isolater in the evening sunshine on the way. This combination got my night’s smoking started off right, and the sunset provided some beautiful cloud formations and colors for me to enjoy on my Metro ride back to Centraal Station.

There had been a TnT scheduled for Barney’s that night, but by the time I made it by there everyone had gone. So I meandered my way down through the streets of the Grachtengordel-West and found my way to Utopia. Nel was working again that night and Quazer was once again there so I passed a couple hours in there smoking and chatting with them. My notes say I started off with a mixed joint of Grand Cru hash and some unnamed weed. While I was talking with Nel about hash I decided to try a little piece of Nepalase Cream he had on offer at 5 euro for a ½ gram. This provided a slightly oily flavored smoke, with a nice “warm fuzzy sweater” body stone with some interesting cerebral effects as well. Not bad for the price!

After some pleasant stoned conversation it was time to “feed my belly!”. I said good evening to Nel and Quazer and headed out the door. I’m really a big fan of this shop for the quality of the weed they offer and the relaxed chilled vibe, and Nel has a lot to do with that. Utopia remains in my top 5 shops in the ‘Dam.

I left Utopia in search of food. Wok to Walk was calling my name and was just a short walk from Utopia. Whole weat noodles with chicken, cashews, veggies. Perfect stoned food. Stomach fed, next it back to Nieuewzidjs Voorburgwaal and onto the tram for a ride out to 1e Hulp for a meet up with Gapie, Treetop, StillSmokin’ and a few others whose names didn’t make it into my notebook. Everyone arrived about the same time as me and we all had fun picking out our purchases for this evening. I went for 1 gram of the G13 and one gram of the NYCD, I’m always on the prowl for a good diesel. :mgreen:

G13 – 1e Hulp
Image

New York City Diesel – 1e Hulp

Purchases sorted we commandeered one of the tables on the upper level and got busy rolling and passing around joints, starting with a phat cone of G13 provided by yours truly. While that joint was still burning, it was quickly joined by a nice mixed joint of Grey Crystals and “Angel Dust” provided by Treetop. I just love nightime at 1e Hulp with the ACD crew, it’s a real mellow vibe and it’s cozy hanging out upstairs with the cat.

Image

Image

The last joint in my notes was a “super mix” of our old friend OG18 + some Caramello Hash and Angel Dust from 1e Hulp. It had a lovely flavor my notes indicate we really enjoyed that one. We had spent a good two hours hanging and smoking and at this point the velvet hammer of OG18 had done a good job on me. Saying my good nights to the crew I headed out into the Amsterdam night and found my way back to my hotel.

Until the next installment…happy Amsterdam dreams to everyone….
