If you live in the USA, you're supposed to wrap the unit up in foil, package it up and post it back to them.

If you live outside the USA, you don't have to post it back to them. The company will email you detailed instructions, which involve taking a marker pen, drawing a line across the back of the unit (keeping the serial number visible), and then taking a clear photo of the back.

Next, you physically break off the clear cover on the top, write the serial number on the exposed wood, and take another photo of this. Send both photos to MLFB and they'll post you a brand new unit. No need to send the destroyed unit back to them, you can throw it away when you're done.

The idea with breaking off the clear cover is to make the old unit totally unusable, stopping people from being dishonest and getting a free MLFB for their friend.

The MLFB knockoffs - they are cheaper, but the materials used are questionable. Personally, I care a great deal about my health... I'm concerned about off-gassing from lead solder etc, so I pay the extra 50 bucks to get something made in the USA by a respected company that guarantees their materials are tested and safe. But to each their own, buy what suits you!
Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it :D

And thank you Taylor :D

Just want to say that Sanyo Eneloops are the biz (thanks whoever suggested them)

I've got Da Kube, mainly because I got it in Dam because I was stoned, too impatient to wait for a MFLB through the post & it is my first vape & I didn't want to go spending more moola than I had to on something I didn't know I'd get on with....anyway.... I think it's pretty good, but I was slightly disappointed that the battery hole was just a wee bit big, which made the batteries slightly loose, so part of the learning curve of using it had an additional 'technique' to master - you have to angle them down slightly with a bit of down force as well as in - no problem, sorted after a few goes..

BUT Imagine my delight! when I discovered not all AA batteries are exactly the same circumferance & the Eneloop fits in nice & snugly, as well as giving a brighter spark. So Da Kube gains an extra point on the satisfaction scale now.

I'll probably get an original eventually, cos I like some of the different wood finishes. But I'm not in any hurry. I'm not at all concerned about solder impurities or anything like that - couldn't be much compared to some of the questionable materials I've smoked dope out of over the years :D - and I wouldn't mind betting it would stand up pretty well on a blindfold test with the MFLB. But definitely bin the batteries it comes with & get the SE.

If I could have anything I'd have a Verdampner 8)

I find the best are actually the Ansmann AA batteries. There are a lot of fakes on eBay. I got some supposedly 3000 mah which I find out is all bullshite. Then I did my research, and I came across Ansmann, which are used by professionals. You can pick up genuine 2850mah batteries from Amazon. They cost a little £11 for 4 but they are remarkable.

I'm getting an arizer solo in about a weeks time. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

I'll also be getting an Ascent by Da Vinci whenever they reach these shores. That thing looks the nuts.

Yeah, I've used one a few times. They definitely work! The only downside (for my tastes) was that the intake is quite restricted, so you can't really get massive cloudy hits from it. Its more of a 'sipping' type of vaporizer. If you've used a MFLB or a Solo you'll know what I mean. But rest assured it does deliver nice vapor. And you really can't beat it for stealth, it looks EXACTLY like a medical inhaler!

I've actually just ordered 2x Flashvapes (one for a friend) that I'll be testing out this 420 in Amsterdam. This is a portable vaporizer that does allow the massive rips that I enjoy, the intake is nice and free-flowing...
How was the Flashvape?

Bleak,
How is the Flashvape?
From what I've read, they sound great, I almost ordered one the other day, but then I noticed that you'd be testing one at 420, so I'm waiting to hear what you (and possibly others who tried it with you) think.
Did you buy the stage 2 set too?

I have several portable vaporizers (in order of acquisition):

1. Iolite
2. Magic Flight Launch Box
3. Thermovape T1
4. Arizer Solo
5. DaVinci
6. miniVAP

The miniVAP is far and away the best performing portable vaporizer I have ever come across. However, it is a bit large and extremely expensive. I use it as my home unit and for parties.

My second favorite is the Arizer Solo, although I haven't used it since getting the miniVAP. If I did not have the miniVAP, this would be my go-to vaporizer for home use or parties.

Next in line is the MFLB. It takes some time to master and the hits are harsh, but it is really pocketable, quick and discreet. Thing of it as a one-hitter vaporizer. I have 2 of these. I leave one at the office and the other I use often when out and about. The price is reasonable and it has a great warranty. I think it is a great product, but not at all suited for heavy sessions with multiple users.

I use the DaVinci as my hiking vape. It is relatively small and produces good vapor and is idiot proof, so sharing with friends is not a problem. However, it doesn't taste particularly great and is a pain in the ass to load and clean.

My other vaporizers just gather dust in the bottom of a drawer.

Great overview. Thanks Pecos. The miniVAP looks like a verrry nice piece of kit...

enjoy!

The Thermovape Revolution (concentrates) and MFLB will be my mokum portables next month.

These are getting to be dated technologies now, but with new models coming out all the time it's quickly turning into a never-ending chasing of the dragon.

cheers

Yep, I got the S2 kit. The Flashvape with S2 is a killer machine, it gives really good hits. Very durable, amazing build quality for the price, and nice simple design. In use it reminded me of a redesigned Magic Flight on steroids. Its pretty big though, so its not really a stealth vape. The only downsides to the Flashvape are that its easy to overheat and burn your weed, especially when learning to use it. Once practiced, this problem goes away. The other downside is that the battery charge time is around 3 hours. During a session, you can get through a battery in around 45 mins. So it can be a hassle charging and switching batteries all the time, but thats what you get with a high-powered portable vaporizer (the core actually glows red, so you can tell it REALLY uses a lot of juice). This battery problem might be solved soon though - Flashvape are releasing a 'quick' charger that halves the charging time. I also suspect they'll release a power adapter for home use in the near future. Plus, because the batteries are removable, they can be replaced with longer lasting ones as battery technology improves in future years.

Apparantly they're also working on a Flashvape Mini which should be interesting!
