Couldn't wait, so ... DECEMBER 8-11!!!

Post by courtjester »

Well, my certain preferred major air carrier just finally dangled one too many "promo fares," and I couldn't avoid pulling the trigger. So Mrs. C.J. and I are headed back to the 'Dam from Dec. 8-11, round-trip airfare $565 per person, best rate I've ever seen from my local airport.

Flight out on Dec. 7 arrives 7:30 a.m. Dec. 8 at Schiphol, a Friday! We have the whole weekend, then leave at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 11, a Monday, and get home late that night. Perfect!

Got a room at Hotel De Gerstekorrel at Damstraat 22-24, apparently quite near Nes C/S, which we neglected to visit last time, an oversight soon to be rectified. Room rate was E335 for three nights. It's also quite close to Sensi Coffeeshop, possibly my favorite smoking venue, which is a big plus.

I've been like Curly from The Three Stooges all afternoon, slapping myself on the head and making that stupid gutteral noise. I can't believe we're going back. This just all came together so quickly. Thank you, Northwest Airlines!

So many other things we didn't get to last time, I'll have to figure them all out! The book at Nes. Anne Frank House. Gunpowder at Stix. Hash Plant Haze. Different trip, different objectives than in July, when it was a 14-day marathon. My mind is racing!

You bet, Twitch. Will do. Pics and reports all around!

I get to do a lot of enormously cool things in life. I'm never going to divulge any of it on this Forum, because I'm not anxious to finger myself to the absolute nitwits running my country (although, I must say, there are substantially fewer now than there were Tuesday). When we're all toking at 4-20, maybe we'll get into it. Or maybe (hopefully) we'll all be toking too much to care about such pedestrian discussion.

But I can tell you this right now: No matter what I do, and no matter where I go, for me the only thing better than a trip to the 'Dam is anticipating a trip to the 'Dam.

And I seriously doubt I'm the only one on here who feels that way.

OK, I lied. The trip is better than the anticipation. But not by much!
