ID in Coffeeshops
Sorry to be annoying with another ID thread but do coffeeshops accept photocopies of passport as a valid form of id or does it have to be the real thing? purely for peace of mind id rather not carry my actual passport around with me at all times. have a tendency to be clumzy... especially stoned lol

Bring your passport, period. IT WILL NEVER FAIL.
Driver's license, birth certificate, student ID, yada yada yada... USE YOUR PASSPORT.
So many insist on using whatever, and in most cases (MOST BUT NOT ALL) they are accepted.
Although it may have happened, I've NEVER heard of someone being turned away because they used a passport. I can't say the same for other forms because I've seen people turned away.
I know this has been said cause I said it before.

I think it's better to bring with you the original as you can too be asked from the police to show it while walking around the city

i can't understand why people have problems with carrying passports and such. it comes down to this, you are grown ups so look after your fucking stuff. jesus wept!

And another ID Thread, oh lord take your Passport with you. Take care of it and you will be fine, plus you can enter Coffeeshops, oh yes, you can.

If you're concerned about losing it (your passport 
) buy one of those wallet things you hang round your neck or keep it in a buttoned pocket should be safe and you wont be worrying.
Copies? No I dont think so, I wouldnt accept one.
An EU photocard driving license is also acceptable as official ID.
Do make copies though and keep them in your hotel so you have details should anything happen.

I lost my drivers licence after coming out of voyagers one Saturday night, oh well. I got home to find I had a phone call from some Dutch guy who had posted it back for me 
I would have been screwed if it were my passport though, hence why I take a second form of ID to carry round with me
