Dam trip 25/10-27/10 questions...

I'm planning to go to Dam on the 25th of this month. I've heard that the Cannabis Cup is held just before this from the 19th to the 23rd. My question is this; is Amsterdam going to be packed solid in the few days after the end of the cup? Is there anything else I should know about the post-cup period before I make my journey?

And finally, are there any recommendations of buds to try/ coffeeshops to visit while I'm out there?
