Mango Haze
Mango Haze, Mr. Nice Seeds, bred by Shantibaba
Tin-spiel from http://www.mrnice.nl/dhtml/strains.php?id=26
This strain is a parallel line to the Super Silver Haze, i.e. it has the same Haze father and the mother is a sister of the SSH. Accordingly, the genetic makeup of this strain is 25% NL5, 25% Skunk and 50% Haze. The expected flowering times depend very much on the selection of the mother but in general will vary from 8 to 11 weeks, so it is a practical 50% sativa for indoor growing. It is suggested that if the room does not have much height, go directly into 12/12 with a rooted clone or seed. This will still give a 1-1.5 meter plant. Yields of this strain are expected to produce between 450-550 grams per square meter (based on using minimum of 600 watts lamps). Lower branches may be pruned during the grow or pre flower phase, so the Mango strain puts its energy into the cola flower clusters. This is a good way to manage this plant if growing more plants per square meter than normal is preferred. The resistance to moulds is a positive feature of this plant, both for indoor and outdoor growers. Mango is a very special plant if one is impressed by resin production, and the aroma is of fully ripe mangos. It is special plant affecting people's cerebral areas. The plant's ancestors were HTCC winners of numerous awards, so its pedigree is outstanding. It has been in the making for some years now, but we at MNS feel it is as ready as it ever will be. If only the serpent in the Garden of Eden had tempted Eve with a Mango Haze instead of a mere apple, the whole world would have understood so much more.

Katsu seems to have the real deal, based on taste and effect (esp. thru volcano), and has been the sativa-iest strain so far this trip. And I've been lookin'.

Sheeba had a lovely Mango Haze in January. 14E a gram but very well flushed, cured and trimmed.

Saw it on one of the Dampkring menus years back.
I think they took it off the menu. The hype is over, next.
Wat is er aan de hand?!

I think Shanti got this one from Down Under too, or at least one of the parents. In Australia and especially in a certain north eastern state, there are various types "mangoes" Purple mango, Sweet mango, Sativa Mango and Indica mango.
Also there is a certain type of mango bud, that has a really "ripe" mango smell to it. Almost like the mango has gone over ripe and may be starting to ferment. Doo dah my mate has a special phenotype of this that transfers the mango tastes very well, with just a hint of cream at the end. Very tasty and a strong type. Doo dah named it Drunk Mango.
The mango haze or mango(can't remember) I tried in Amsterdam was a little mediocre in taste, but maybe a little stronger.
There's a rant for no reason at all for you.

Re: Mango Haze
Never had a banging mango in the dam either. Something has always been lacking. Last time I had Mango from Katsu and the time b4 that from siberie. The Katsu version hit very hard but very shortlived and no real mango taste. Just a hint of the smell. The siberie mango was outdoor weed. Very nice example and highly rec for outdoor fans but outdoor has its own set of boundries.Slip & Sal wrote:I think Shanti got this one from Down Under too, or at least one of the parents. The best Mango I ever had was BC bud mail order. Smelt, and tasted like the real deal with a strong result.
Does your mate with the Mango cream have any beans? How long does she flower? I'm guessing up there in the NE tropics it could be a long one!
How much did you produce?

Think there maybe a couple or so floating around. It's not the shortest flowerer outside, not too long though. Under lights it rips extraordinary nuggetry, but a bit fluffy. Massivo though. Really good when "netted".treetop wrote:

Re: Mango Haze
I like the taste of MH very much, but was looking for something with a bit more sativa energy/trippiness and so went with Neville's Haze Mango (NH x Mango Haze) from Mr. Nice.
http://mrnice.nl/dhtml/strains.php?id=31
As a bonus this hybrid's cheaper than either Neville's Haze or Mango Haze straight-up... 69eu vs 118eu.

I'm a month from seed (started within a week of returning from mokum) and waiting for the plants to get sexin'.
5/5 germ rate.

Well.. ended up with only one lady out of the five Neville's Haze Mangos, and it's a NL5-leaner...EasilySuede wrote:I'm a month from seed (started within a week of returning from mokum) and waiting for the plants to get sexin'. 5/5 germ rate.

...wider greasy leaves, rounded serations on leaves.
Photo was taken about a week ago, before she showed her lady-parts.
She was moved into a 1 gal. smart pot today, topped again, and put back into veg.
I'll flower out clones next month.
Stem rub smells NL5-ish, plus some church wood and mango scents.
She won't be fuego, but hopefully she'll be indica fun.
13 more seeds to go.
