im looking to go back to dam in early/mid july, last time i went i stayed in the de pijp area and whilst it was a nice area this time i want to be more towards the centre of dam.
can anyone recommend a good fair priced smoking hotel near the centre? a smoking room is a must

there are at least two or three threads on this topic. Have you tried searching?

I have but can't find anything thats been posted this year. Don't want to go on reviews for a hotel that are more then six months old. If their are some relatively new threads that I can't see then I apologize

I will say that I think the number of hotels in Amsterdam that allow smoking just continues to decline. Have you considered renting an apartment?

I would tend to agree with that sentiment, if you are doing anything other than travelling alone / on a flying visit then smoker-friendly apartments are the way to go. Doesn't have to work out much more expensive, if at all, and can have far more home comforts etc along with the guarantee of not getting any hassle for smoking.

Either that or get a hotel room with a balcony.....

We stayed at the ITC, said it was smoker friendly on the website.

When we got there and asked the guy said no its not, but if you just open a window you'll be fine. We smoked a lot in our rooms and no one said anything and didn't get charged extra. It's dirt cheap as well compared to some places.

Totally agree. Apartments are the way to go!
