Before you read on..........

I had a major fail with my multimedia camera just a day or so before the trip so had to rely on my new phone camera. The crawl maps that Stuart1976 very kindly shared, which I downloaded on my PC to Cloud did not appear on my phone. So apologies for the poor photographs, my hands shake so this makes them worse.

So lets begin..........

Day 1 - Monday June 3rd
Image

The alarm goes off at 3.55am, time to clean those teeth and make some tea. Out on to to the patio for an early wake n bake, the moon is still up and the Sun is starting to rise in the distance. I hardly slept the night before with excitement but now I know my adventure has started!

Tea & Reefer finished, time to get showered and changed. The taxi arrives 5.15am and I am on my way, just a hand luggage trolley so no need to rush.

Arrive at Gatwick North Terminal at just before 6am, in plenty of time, where's my brother?
Image

Find brother stood by the smoking area, show him the pictures of the clipper lighters purchased the day before which I thought were quite appropriate, my brother disagrees
Image

We are flying Easyjet and supposed to take off at 8.10am but with the usual delays take off around 8.40am. Pilot actually apologises for the interesting landing at Schipol but we are in the Netherlands and just about on time.

We head for Schipol train station and load up some credit on travel chipkarts for the rest of the trip, if you are planning to travel on the trains, trams and buses this is a really good cost effective way to pay for travel, tap in, tap out. We phone the apartment people and they tell us we can check in at midday. On to the train and 20 minutes later we are in Amsterdam and its nearly midday.
Image

We had been told that this place was very close to Amnesia Coffeeshop so we knew where to go, we were surprised to find that it was actually the canal house next door.
Image

We check in to the canal house but don't look round as the cleaner has not finished, we dump our bags and head to Amnesia to purchase some tide over until we get to Haarlem as that's what we have planned for the afternoon.

Amnesia is not very busy and we explain that we are renting next door so the bud tender and waitress tell us to pop in anytime. We purchase half a gram each of Acapulco Gold and Pineapple Chunk. We roll a couple of each with a quick chocomel and then head back for the train station for our journey to Haarlem. We smoke one reefer each on the walk but are disappointed with our first purchases, expensive, not that strong and not that tasty either. :(
Image

We get the Train to Haarlem and I get to admire the scenery, lots of power turbine windmills to see on the way.
Image

We jump off at 2nd Haarlem station as there are 2, a couple jumped off then jumped back on again as we told them them they had the wrong station :) This is where things go slightly awry, despite arranging unlimited data on my mobile before I flew I find that I am having to add data bundles just to use live maps. We soon realise that we have walked out of the South exit and heading in the wrong direction. 10 minutes later I find that my data is spent!

The aim of the trip to Haarlem was a trip to Birdy to sample some good hash and more sort of local weed. We had our minds set on their Jelly and Ice so thought it would be worth the trip. We walk past Birdy 3 times admiring the fruit and vegetable shop across the road failing to notice the the big Birdy clock outside the shop.

We peer in before we walk in, just about enough room to swing a cat with what looked like a little chillout area at the back, computers, juke box etc, there was a glass security door you had to get through if you wanted to stay and smoke. Its hot and I need a drink as we've been travelling and only consumed a chocomel each. The Budtenderess lets us in and gives me a menu, ask if its ok to buy a drink first which seems to cause some upset with her as she mutters something about tourists under her breath. No expert in Dutch but I can tell when someone is being off with you.

We order drinks and revisit the menu, before we can even ask she tells us that the Jelly and Ice are out of stock. I tell her that is no problem as I have heard many good things about their selection in particular the hash.

We order the from the menu, service improves upon spending money so we finish our drinks and leave, you read the full review here https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 8&start=45, here is a some little pictures of our purchases, Cream, Super Polm, Buddha Hash and Knetter:
Image Image Image Image

We head back to Amsterdam on the train after a short tour of Haarlem, its a nice place, not sure they want to encourage Amsterdam style tourism.

We decide to jump off the train and head off to 1e Le Hulp I just want to see this BHO stuff as Im interested in extracts for pain relief. We are both a little tired and very hungry, its quite busy so decide to buy and fly a gram of S5 as recommended by the Budtender.
ImageImage

We head back to the Canal House and decide to stop at Amnesia for some further purchases as we were disappointed earlier. We see our first white out as a girlfriend leaves her boyfirend to stand outside not feeling well  I tell the Budtender about our earlier smokes and he is also sad for us and recommends half grams of NYCD and Dr Grinspoon for the next green selection and Azilla & Shiraz for the hash.
Image Image Image Image

We head back to our canal house next door and proceed to stay up till 3am smoking our days purchases. The S5 from Le Hulp turns out be a real treat as well as the Hash from Amnesia. The Birdy hash and green is OK but not all that special. The NYCD is strong and we end the night and enter the early morning on that before heading to bed 8) .

I hope you've enjoyed the read, day to 2 to follow!

Day 2 - Tuesday 4th June

Wake up early about 7.30am after the previous day and nights session, not slept very well as often is the case when over tired. We are self catering in the apartment and after a simple affair of peanut butter / jam toast for breakfast we are ready for our wake n bakes.

We made a good dent in our hash from Birdy yesterday so my bro proceeds to get stuck in to the rest of this while I foolishly decide to roll a 4 strain haze reefer from the previous days purchases. My bro smokes weed but prefers the hash so we do little swaps until about 8.30am.
Image

We roll a few more and smoke these in preparation for our trip to Voyagers for Testing Tuesday, lose track of time and before you know it is already 11.00am, its not even lunchtime and think I have already smoked about 3 grams, totally baked as the indica's combine from the hazes to deliver that after initial stone knock out effect!.

We head over to Voyagers and my bro does not get in as he has no ID with him . We pick up a gram of the Testing Tuesday weed named YU10 and head back to our apartment. This 10 Euro bargain bud looked good and had a very sweet aroma with that uncanny ammonia smell.
Image

We are going to have a few smokes and return Voyagers later for a pre-planned T&T via the "Whos in Town" page from FlyByNite's coffeeshop menus site http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/0-WhosIn ... InTown.htm. Anyhow as we sit and smoke, we decide that Voyagers YU10 is a very strong and good tasty smoke. So far we decide our bud favourites are S5 from Le Hulp and this YU10. We are going to try the hash we purchased from Amnesia the day before in the afternoon.

Yesterday was an overcast and muggy day but today is very warm, sunny with a nice breeze. A perfect day for being outdoors, so we head out for some late lunch and a slow meander to Voyagers.
ImageImageImage

We stop at El Guapo to make a few purchases as we have not been here since its revamp and entry to the cannabis cup. I choose a gram of SSH and my bro chooses a pre-roll hash joint. The SSH is a bit of let down but the hash joint is quite good.

We get carried away smoking and chatting to a guy from US outside Basjoe who is visiting the Amsterdam with his mum, bless him. Basjoe is very different from the last time we were there in 2011 with an electronic menu and funky jars displaying the bud etc. Heck we realise its nearly 3pm and we have arranged a T&T at Voyagers so start a hectic walk to get there on time.

3.10pm, we walk into Voyagers and there are around 4 people in there, the morning bud tenderess who we spoke to about the T&T is not there, so we order drinks and sit down. Have we already missed people who turned up on time? Anyhow we roll a couple of joints and at about 3.20pm a short haired young man walks in with another chap with amazing dreadlocks and a dog the size of a horse. I am looking for Gapie, he should have long hair and a japanese samurai style bun on the top.

This is where I lose my bottle/nerve and decide that the T&T has been an epic fail, we decide its best not announce that we have turned for a T&T and embarrass ourselves if no one has turned up and slink out of there after finishing our drinks. We head back to the canal house via a falafel shop to start the evenings session. Later that evening whilst chatting on FlyByNite's forum http://chatwing.com/coffeeshopmenus, he posts a more recent picture of Gapie and we realise that we didn't recognise him as he walked in to Voyagers with the chap with the dreads. The chap with the dreads and the huge dog turns out to be Highly Blessed :D.

I log on to ACD, where Gapie and I realise we missed each other . We smoke in to the early morning again whilst pondering the partial fail the day has been. We were supposed to test a few of the Voyagers selection today and write a review but that seemed to go by the wayside after getting far too stoned in the morning. Time to re-evaluate the list we made of coffeeshops we intended to visit during this trip, we are never going to get through the selection we have made even in half grams :( but hey ho, we will give it damn good go .

We end the nights/morning session smoking the Azilla & Shiraz from Amnesia, both top quality smokes with the Shiraz being my favourite hash from the trip so far.

Day 3 - Wednesday 5th June

We are more than half way through our trip now and decide not to have a lay in despite several late nights and early starts. Its a beautiful day today, temperatures expected to hit 26C, that's pretty hot by my standards.

Today, we have marked out Grey Area for a review and from previous experiences know we need to get there early to avoid long lines going outside the door. During my last visit in 2011 we tried a couple of times to get in but they were too busy and we did not have time to wait.

Grey Area is not far from our canal house so after a bit of breakfast we head out, we get there 10 minutes before they open and as far as I can see no line yet. Just as we near the door a group of 4 cross the road and beat us to being first to get in . Well as it turns out, only 2 out of the group of 4 go up to the bud tender to purchase so we don't have to wait too long to be served.

Image

We make our purchases and head back very happy to the canal house via a scenic tour of the RLD, the link for my full review of Grey Area is here, https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=5&t=24
Image

We walk past a number of a coffeeshops that I have never seen reviewed and having visited one on our way back to the canal house, in hindsight I can see why now. We walked in to this place and yes it did feel like the twilight zone but I think that had more to do with the customers than the coffeeshop itself .
Image

Back at the canal house, we soon realise that this is some of the best bud we have had all week. Grey Area was expensive but I am happy to pay for quality. We spend the rest of the evening and early hours of the morning sampling and reviewing the Grey Area selection. We had rolled a choker out of the Grey Crystal earlier and crash out very happy and stoned after finishing this

Day 4 - Thursday 6th June

This is our penultimate day in Amsterdam and I wake early knowing we only have today as our last full day, my bro is already up and changed so its only me holding the day up .

We look at our coffeeshop list and see that we still have Club Media, Paradox, Siberie and Utopia on our list. Its been a while since we visited these places but I have never been Utopia, well not that I remember from previous visits or cannabis cups. So we decide that we will review Utopia as we have heard loads of good things about the place.

We decide to roll a few for our walk to Utopia so load up the last of the Grey Area purchases from the day before and end up get waylaid by an impromptu morning session.

We eat a quick lunch and head off to Utopia, as we get outside we soon realise that today could be the hottest day so far and not a cloud in sight 8).
Image

My bro sits at a table outside whilst I head in to make our purchases. Its quiet in here at the moment and this give me a chance to have a chat with the Bud tenderess who introduces herself to me as Ingi. I tell that Ingi that I am reviewing for ACD and she proceeds to assist me with my selection of Buds. We don't go for more hash as we still have enough to last for 2 days and my bro probably won't smoke much on the last day. After paying for me my purchases I look round to find that Gapie is here, we make our introductions and laugh at how neither of us wanted look stupid in Voyagers so kept quiet. We arrange to meet between 4pm & 5pm in Voyagers for a last smoke before we head back for the train to Schipol tomorrow. you can read my full review of Utopia here https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... &start=870

Image

I am very impressed with the knowledge and quality of the selection and we leave happy after our complimentary chocomels :D. Whilst finishing our drinks outside we have a strange confrontation with a man we had seen earlier in the RLD who clearly didn't have enough money for his intended leisure activities, he tried to beg 10 Euro and said he needed this for the train to Antwerp , he was not going to get any money from us!

We decide that we are going to go back to the canal house to order pizza and spend the evening finishing our supplies as we go home tomorrow and need to be checked out reasonably early. My bro is not big bud smoker and finished all the hash but even he had to admit that what we had purchased from Utopia was the best of the week and stood head and shoulders above the rest. The Amnesia Haze was very good.

We head to bed happy and baked slightly jaded as we know the fun finishes tomorrow evening when we fly out of Schipol :(

Day 5 - The Last Day - Friday 7th June

We wake early for our last morning Amsterdam, we get showered and changed quick and get our bags packed. We have some breakfast and then roll a few for our days wandering. We phone the apartment people and let them know we have checked out.

Its 9am and we head to central station to check our baggage in to the day lockers so we are free to wander the rest of the day without this getting in the way. Once the luggage is put away we head off back to town and generally wander for an hour before coming back to Utopia where we sit outside with drinks smoking what is left from the night before. My bro is now out of hash so decides to wander round the corner to Abraxas for a pre-rolled hash joint.

He comes back with this and we sit getting baked in the sun, the preroll from abraxas combines with all the Bud I have smoked and leaves me temporarily in a world of my own much to the amusement of my bro who has spent many an evening catching flies on the sofa next to me

We carry on wandering until we meet up with the guy from the US again and he asks why we have long faces, we explain that our trip will be over in a few hours so are sad . He is lucky enough to be sending his mum home and spending some extra days on his own so we wish him a happy holiday and carry on walking around.

Image

I had promised my bro that we would have profertjes this week and finally we found a stall in Dam square where a beach volley ball tournament is underway. I had met the girls from the Gibralter team at the airport in the UK on Monday morning but forgot all about the tournament.

Image

Its time for us to head to Voyagers for that last smoke with Gapie so we walk in the warm sunshine to our final coffeeshop destination. No sign of Gapie so we hang around until 4.30pm as we need to be on the train for 5pm after we have collected our luggage from the lockers.

5.30pm one final smoke outside Schipol Airport, Champagne Haze from Utopia which is lovely but leaves me feeling depressed that its time to go home. The flight home is fine and I am home and showered and fed by 9.00pm UK time.

As I empty my washing in to the laundry that night checking each pocket as I go along, I find a nice surprise in a shirt pocket. 5 grams of Ketama from Anyday!
Image

And that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed the read :D

Top report. Sunny days, I like your pace and taste in weed.

The burning question in my mind is how you came to meet the Gibralter woman's beach volleyball team at the airport.
